This is for the review of Costa on West End Lane in West Hampstead, but they’re all pretty much the same. This place is TERRIBLE when it comes to customer service. Their espresso tastes ok, but most of their staffers struggle with English and can’t get the drinks right. I went this morning to get an iced americano. I had to repeat my order at least 4 times and then they made a(gross) frappucino! When I explained to the woman that I asked for an iced americano, she didn’t apologise or offer to remake my drink! She barely spoke English and I had to repeat myself a million times to get her to make what I had ordered. She was very gruff and rude. THEN — she gave me an iced americano that was only ½ full! I had ordered a medium and the drink literally only came up halfway to the top of the glass. It was so bizarre and frustrating, but very similar to my experiences at this chain. Also, their baked goods are awful. A croissant from Tesco would be better.

I really liked that Costa did not charge extra for soy milk in their espresso drinks — this has always been one of my biggest pet peeves. Why should I be punished by cafes for being lactose intolerant? Also, the pretty designs Costa baristas made in the foam always made my lattes feel extra special! There were not nearly as many Costas as Starbucks or Caffe Neros in the parts of London I frequented most often(I definitely visited Costa more when I was traveling through other parts of England), so I was not as frequent of a customer as I would have liked to be!
