How I’ve dreaded writing a review for this place but alas it keeps popping up on my ‘place to review’ list. So here goes. You know my secret. I love Coco de Mer. I find it nearly impossible not to have a quick browse when in the area as I never know what incredibly beautiful things will be on display here. Everything is phthalate free, staff are knowledgable and patient, full of genuine advice and completely understanding. Other reviewers have pointed out a price increase for brands like LELO and JimmyJane(both US brands) and this is less a reflection of CdM’s pricing as it is one of imported and especially luxury goods as a whole. Unfortunately just one of the facts of living in the UK. A little known fact is that Coco de Mer, although originally independently owned, was actually bought by Lovehoney. As a result there are certain items sold here that are available for slightly less on Lovehoney’s website. Unfortunately ordering these items online will rob you of the satisfaction(and fun) to be had browsing the items in store. I’m not saying take your husband/wife/boyfriend/girlfriend I’m just saying that a visit to CdM is basically a milestone every relationship should aspire to cross. CdM puts seedy places in Soho to shame. It’s 2015 people, it’s time we step up and recognise that adults will be adults. CdM is exactly the kind of shop many of us have searched for so put away your shame away and have a peek!

The place to go for sexy books, lingerie, pillows, dildos(can’t believe I just wrote that), shoes. This place is sexy central. Just go and see for yourself and get naughty!

Lovely staff. Fascinating selection of books(Anais Nin etc), random kinky artefacts, vibrators, lingerie and slightly scary looking objects I have never seen before. The delightful sales assistant began talking in quite graphic detail about what the vibrators were capable of and I do believe she mentioned something about how they could be put up a man’s arse. At that point I became all uptight and provincial and almost ran from the store. LOL. Also amusing was the soberly-dressed man who snuck in to buy a Lelo designer sex toy for his partner(presumably) and the way he blanched when the sales assistant asked him in a really quite loud voice WILLYOUNEEDSOMELUBICRANTWITHTHAT. Great store — definitely worth a visit.

Amazing stuff!!! I stopped dead in my tracks walking by when I saw the bra and garter belt set in the window that smacked highly of bondage wear, but it was beautiful — expensive as hell — but beautiful. I had to go in. Nothing tacky or cheap(looks or price wise) in here. They carry Lelo toys as well as all of the books about subjects you never knew you wanted to ever see. Well, they do say knowledge is power ;) This is a high end classy erotic shop and worth a look see!

Coco de Mer in London reminds me a lot of Kiki De Montparnasse in New York: darkish, sultry with a nice balance between erotic and educational. To me, the judge of any store of this variety is the quality of the brands they carry, and the ones of note for me are: Jimmyjane and LELO. Immediate points for Coco de Mer as they carry both Jimmyjane and Lelo. The shopgirl who helped me was knowledgeable and showed me a couple of other options I wouldn’t have thought to ask about on my own. I really liked the feel of the YVA by Lelo, but the price tag was a bit out there(though considering it’s £896 on I shouldn’t be surprised.) However, the gold Little Something was over £200 at Coco de Mer but on it’s just $ 158(the equivalent of £105.) Something’s wrong with this picture. Right? Besides the price inflation, I found the book section lacking. Primarily how-to books and I didn’t manage to spot a single Susie Bright title. Surprising.

So apparently I didn’t know what a G-spot vibrator was… You learn something new everyday. Welcome to Coco de Mer… not suitable for the faint of heart.

Girlie dildos, butt plugs and vibrators. Lots of ‘em. The shop is sultry and filled with satin and lace lingerie up front, sex toys in the middle and S&M gear and books with massive peens on the front of them at the back. The fact that a bunch of Anaïs Nin texts are placed around the store should tip you off that this place caters for women. I definitely dig that. What I don’t so much dig are the prices. As much as I might like a purple G-spot vibrator with splash-proof, soft-touch coating, I don’t really want to pay £90 for it. Not because I’m cheap, but because it’s a bit of a mark-up. Otherwise, Coco de Mer is pretty neat. And it’s a much better option than shops on lower-ground floors in the skeevy porn creepville of southern Soho. Because, you know, if you’re going to pay a premium for the luxury of buying your vibrator in a bricks-and-mortar establishment anyway, you may as well do it in one where you’re not being google-eyed by the blow-up doll on the next display over or oogle-eyed by the big dude in the corner.

Kinky and cool, Coco de Mer is a great lingerie-sex shop, it almost feels like you are entering the world of a woman, obviously named coco, who has a wild sexy imagination. Some of the gadgets for sexual pleasure they sell can be so expensive though, they had a ceramic dildo for thousands of pounds! The lingerie is expensive as well but it’s so delectably sinful, they also have a selection of erotic books, and basically everything to do with the art or erotica. There are some weird apparatus as well, I saw one that seemed to be a horse saddle, and I can’t even imagine how that works!

Named after the palm tree seed of the Seychelles(I’m guessing because of the seeds erotically shaped size), this luxury erotic shop offers all the lingerie, toys and novella you could ever what to enjoy forbidden fruit. Compared to many of the tacky sex shops in Soho, Coco de Mer is very sophisticated, inviting, and once you’ve braved it though the doors past street onlookers you wont be disappointed. Their products are exciting and their lingerie is saucy and adventurous yet beautifully made and luxurious. It’s at the up-market end of sex-for-sale shops so expect to pay for it, but for a little piece of luxury that can turn you from a Charlotte to a Samantha in one evening, why scrimp. I love their Kisu perfume that is very sensuous and sets the mood perfectly. They even sell exquisite erotic art, so if you fancy sprucing up your apartment Sebastian Horsley style then you can find a few shocking centre pieces here. I think everywoman(and boyfriend) should take a peak in Coco De Mer, you might be surprised at how much fun you can actually have.

men if you have money then take your girlfriends here and you will be thanked in many ways you may have only imagined. Seriously, this place is a boudoir, with sexy lingerie, high class toys books. Everything is done with taste though, unlike many of the garish soho spots. You won’t feel sick, but you will feel other things. You will want everything in there. Perfect for people who need to spice things up or need to buy a present for there partner. God I sound like an agony aunt. But this is pretty much what this place is. The décor is ridiculous but I like it, sort of velvety and erotic, chandeliers and ridiculous garments to go with the high prices. But i bet once you have spent the money it becomes well worht it my friends! And yes, prudish people, don’t bother!

Think Victorian restraint in deep velvets, kinky decadence, erotic exotic and sexy stylish. If sex could be ever be gorgeous and upmarket — here it is. A million miles away from the seedy downstairs Soho sex shops, CDM stands proud of their trinkets, lingerie, sex toys, books and gift sets — all enticingly displayed. Sam Roddick — daughter of the famed Body Shop’s Anita, has taken her mother’s ethical stance with regards to environmental consideration and human rights by supporting ethical manufacturers and producers. And no, I won’t tell you what I bought.

What a place Coco de Mer is. For you prudes out there, I would not advise going here, for all you others this place is worth checking out. Coco de Mer is basically an up-scale lingerie/sex shop. They also have a sampling of erotic literature and gag gifts. This place is very high-end and targets a posh female clientele. For you guys out there wanting to get a gift or sexy outfit for your best lady friend, check out Coco de Mer, you will be more than pleased.
