When it comes to jewellery, I’m more of a buyer than a maker, but it’s hard not to be inspired by Claire Aristides’ charming little shop in Kingly Court. Claire sells her own pieces and while most aren’t really my style, she also offers a bespoke jewellery design service… or you can make your own with one of her tool kits(the shop was recently giving away free kits with purchases over £35)… OR you can take one of her evening workshops(from the obvious«Make a Cocktail Ring» to the less obvious«Heal-thy-self»(?)).

I like Claire’s stuff. I design jewellery myself and what I appreciate about her is she isn’t charging extortionate prices like some of these independent designers. Most of her pieces are made from crystals, pearls and findings as well as gold-fill wire and Sterling, the overall feel is contemporary with a 1950s twist. You can also buy a kit, which is what I did for a friend, to make a bracelet. There’s also workshops and parties that you can book, although I think £65 for one evening is a little bit steep!
