I came to this place as a regular when I was an exchange student at London Business School. This place is right across the Baker Street station exit and short walk from LBS, extremely convenient. I especially liked the barber’s customer service and friendly attitude here. The barbers here are also very skilled. You just have to be specific with them on what you want your hairstyle to be like, and they will make it look great! Come have a try especially if you are a student nearby. The price is also quite reasonable for an establishment in the downtown of London.

Well worth the price. This is a Clean, and friendly salon good for a same day appointment or even walk in. Great for a basic or standard haircut. I had high expectations when going in. As you can see from my before and after pictures, I had quite a lot of length cut off and was expecting a more stylish cut. I ended up with a pretty standard Bob, which is still nice, but not my ideal. I had detailed pictures of what I wanted but the hairdresser wanted me to «name» the haircut. Like short-angled bob or something like that. She seemed to have a bunch of hair cuts memorised in her head but had trouble letting her creative side take over. But once again, I probably should go to a more experienced salon and hair stylist if I’m expecting a true hair style. There seemed to be about 50% men and 50% women getting their hair cut on the Saturday I went. Definitely a good deal for the price.

Great customer service. Got a cut and highlights to touch up my roots, and my stylist(forgot his name, but he was Italian) got the color perfectly.

I went their last Sunday at 12.40(as Michael), and I probably had the worst hairdressing experience in my life. After a nice head massage, the hairdresser(a lady) used very hot water, which was only the start to a disastrous experience. She pretty much cut my hair exactly as I have told her not to, although she seemed to have exactly understood what I wanted. Finally, when I waited for her to dry my hair, she said: «it’s all done!» and let me go with wet hair(at an outside temperature of about 8°C). When I came home I had to rinse out all the loose hairs and basically finish the hairdresser’s job. Well, what did I pay 17 Pounds for here? It seems as if I was really unlucky with the employee who was assigned to me. After the experience I thought that it was too bad to be true. I must admit, normally I am not critical at all but this was just a horrific experience.

Been to this location a few times, but recently did full colour, wash & cut with Julia and she was really good! Extremely thorough in applying colour and detailed when styling the cut. She is very good at listening and pleasant person. Am definitely requesting her specifically when I return in a month. Only reason why I’m not giving full 5-stars, is cos City Cuts & Colours does not do student discounts.

I walked past this place on the way to work most days so when I realised that I hadn’t gotten it cut for about 6 months I booked an appointment,. I was booked in with a Russian gent called Edward. I have extremely dry, curly hair. Most stylists want to chop inches off and layers in to my hair in a bid to make it more manageable. Not Edward. He recognised that my hair is extremely thick and that layers would make it more unmanageable. He knew that cutting 5 inches off wouldn’t make it less dry than it already is. He simply did what was best, which was just cut an inch off. After I get my hair washed at salons, it normally takes 2⁄3 stylists no joke to brush the knots out. No jokes. Not with Edward. He had it brushed out and trimmed in the space of 30 mins, and even though I didn’t request a blow dry, he gave me one anyway and didn’t charge. Can’t recommend this place enough, I’ve been to a lot of the top salons in London and this place definitely did the best job of cutting my hair.

I really like City Cuts they are centrally located, and offer a great value for money. I pay for a hair cuts + highlights + lowlights(full head, a short bob) about £100, which is very reasonable(if not to say cheap!). Usually I would be suspicious I can get a good service at that price, and I am VERY fussy with my hair, but I found a great stylist Andrea(aka AJ), who is an Australian hairdressing miracle. I am a big fan of her talent she is really a profi, and very versatile too, as she is equally brilliant with long and short hair, and with blond and dark colours(yes, I tried it all!). Another plus she never dumps her problems on her clients, and is always friendly and attentive. The manager, Maria, is very fair and welcoming(she can be mostly found in the reception area), and remembers customer preferences well. While waiting for my hair to be dyed, I am always offered tea/coffee/water, and their coffee is great(they have purchased a professional coffee machine a while ago). Plus, they are centrally located, meaning I can go shopping afterwards. Great!

Was looking for a better value hairdressers near my work and went here for a cut and blow dry having read the other reviews. Can highly recommend it! It is very unpretentious, which I loved but if you’re used to higher end salons you may not– no tea or coffee, basic décor, bustling rather than calm atmosphere. Everyone is very friendly and welcoming which is better than a lot of other places– I really hate surly receptionists. The hairdresser(zlata) did an amazing job. She checked carefully what I wanted and has given me a really good cut– much better than the last one I had from a much more expensive place. As I have a bob it requires a certain level of precision cutting and her technique was flawless. She even showed me a new way of blow drying my hair at home, and having tried it myself now it’s brilliant– it’s the first time in years I’ve got my hair to look super sleek without the aid of straighteners. It cost me £32.90 as my hair is mid length– it’s slightly less for short and slightly more for long hair. If you want to save money you could wash your hair yourself at home and skip the blowdry– then it would only be £18.50. There is no pressure to have a blowdry, she checked with me if I wanted one before she started cutting. They have a loyalty system where if you go 6 times you get your next cut half price. Will definitely be returning!

I’ve been going here on and off for a few years and have never had a bad cut. Several different stylists have cut my hair and all have been friendly and experienced. I’ve found I can usually walk in without an appointment on weekday evenings which is great. My only issue is that although it was amazing value when I had short hair, for very long hair(mine is about armpit level) the price for wash, cut and dry goes up to about £40 — no cheaper than other salons.

went here last minute recently as i was headed on a trip home to california and was in desperate need of a cut and color. after searching the internet, this was the lowest price i could find, near my place, and was willing to take me the same afternoon. i ended up getting a trim and highlights/lowlights to cover up my previously grown out highlights. i really liked the color actually — i wanted to go darker all together and she ended up doing low lights with a few blonder pieces blended in which i thought worked well. probably a little blonder/noticeable than i would have wanted, but none the less a good job. the cut was fine — not great and she should have asked for more feedback. i also should have been more aggressive and told her i wanted my fringe and layers cut more. i would still probably go back based on location to my flat, as well as the price point — it was about 100 pounds total for ½ head of highlights and the cut.

Was looking for a cheap but«safe» place to get my highlights done and found this place randomly on google. Abby, from the Baker street salon, did a good job, the colour was not exactly the one I had in mind, but looks good too… cant complain, good service, friendly staff, quick and under 35 quid.

I always go here for a wash and blowdry, nothing else. I also always book but I have no idea why because walk ins appear to get priority. But it is cheap, by london standards– long hair blowdry £21.90 amd the wait wouldnt be so bad but i’m usually getting a blowdry before catching a plane, so the wait then is never good. Have never really had a totally rotten blow dry but it really depends who you get as to how much value for money it is, as theres one scary blonde girl who manages to rip out most of my hair by the root while simultaneously blowdrying my hair flat to my head(its a gift i tells you) oh and try not to get the wine expert who drones on about how smart he is and is the last person you want to listen to after a long day at work!

Frances from City Cuts & Colours gave me the exact hair style that I was idealizing in my mind. A guy from my class wouldn’t leave me alone later that day because I looked«striking» and«really nice» and claimed we didn’t talk enough, haha. When I left the salon, the hair was still clinging to my head a little from my previous hair cut. I woke up this morning to find that it looked totally totally awesome and has so much style and isn’t weighed down anymore, etc. I’m extremely happy! Frances is the best. Also, it was only 20 and that was good.
