Not sure why this place has so little stars, because my experience was great here. Saturday night, no wait, fresh sushi, but I keep the fifth star due to cost vs. experience. It’s most likely for the rent due to the address vs. the food. Anyway, I’ll be back.

This is the Chisou Knightsbridge location FYI. This restaurant is located in a very POSH real estate as what we had found out. It’s down the street from Harrods and it’s at the very end of the restaurant row. Depending on your palette this place might be A-OK or you’ve experienced better. The sushi was decent but the udon soup we had was bland. It needed more umami flavor. Also, on of the the dishes we ordered, the waiter should’ve asked if we wanted it as a «cold noodle» or should’ve notified us that it was a soup. She wanted cold noodle and not soup. The reason I’m giving 3 stars is because of the front management. John is their manager or in charge of checking with the guests. He was such a character and very entertaining. He checked in with majority of the patrons and spoke multiple languages, it was faschinating to watch him interact. At the end of the service, we had asked him where the go to place in the area for pubs, bars, etc. Having found out that we were tourists and we were«kababayan”-almost same ethnicity, he was kind enough to walk us down the street and show us where the go to places for bars and a club. He said no pubs for us! LOL! He was nice enough also to say that we can call him at the restaurant if we got lost or got in trouble and he’ll save us! Thank you JOHN!

Very nice room but I’m not eating décor so who cares? Sushi was ok, not great, not bad. My tuna of varying fatiness(blue fin, blue fin chutoro, blue fin o-toro) were all largely the same, though don’t worry, the prices were different indeed. Rolls were constructed by someone lacking the doobie-rolling skills most Japanese sushi masters are known for so despite good flavour they didnt hold up well. Cooked food was a low point, with tough chicken yakitori, bad stir fried beef with mushrooms, ok eggplant w/miso and strangely tasty deep-fried gyoza. I’d go back, but only because I leave nearby and like sushi a lot. If it were in Vancouver or Tokyo I’d literally hack Unilocal and find a way to award negative stars, but its not, so thank god.

Decent ambiance at this townhouse location but the food was pretty mediocre. They have a nice selection of sake ranging from hot to lukewarm to cold. We ordered rolls and a couple salads. Portions are generous but quality of rolls were pretty poor. Quality of fish and presentation were disappointing given that this is a decent restaurant. For the price try roka.
