I wanted to like it. I knew the history of the place from reading Iron Maiden biographies, and I really wanted to like it.
I didn’t, though.
It’s just a standard, run of the mill, city pub. If it wasn’t for the Maiden links, nobody would know about it, and it would probably never have survived as long as it has.
There’s mentions of Iron Maiden outside, and various assorted memorabilia inside, but I would have thought they could have made more of it than they did. Plus, the TVs were showing MTV Base. Not exactly Maiden-​esque, really.
I quickly finished my drink and left. I didn’t look back.
A bit of a waste of time, in all honesty.

Not bad I suppose, the entertainment was good, but I left early after being hassled by an over-​zealous security guard insisting I removed my hat for the cameras! I decided not to return out of embarassment and principle. Yes I know it’s only a hat, but I have my reasons for wearing one, and if I wanted a dress code and high security I’d go to a night club In future I’ll take my money elsewhere.

Love this pub! Always a great atmosphere with good music and selection of bands to dance and sing to. The drink selection is endless and the staff are always friendly. Prices are reasonable which is always a bonus! Great location as well as it’s easy to get to and from home. So close to so many public transport links.
Heard they have a good hotel upstairs too which i cant wait to try out after a brilliant night out here.
100% recommended!

Currently a great little place to pop in to have a few pints and watch football. The couple of times I have been there to watch Champions League matches during the week it has been fairly quiet, felt almost like having a bar in one’s living room with a few people round. Really useful on those nights when the other pubs further up are jam packed with people watching the footy. Staff friendly, prices not bad.
Is hailed as the place the band Iron Maiden started out.
