We went to this place because of the good recommendations about the cozy atmosphere, nice staff and good beers. All true, so we highly recommend this bar for a having a a beer with friends.

Wandered in here this past weekend. Very cosy and pleasant atmosphere. Defo return — lovely staff and nice beer selection.

This is a decent traditional looking pub serving some good real ale. There are some nice places to sit(if you can get a seat though). The TVs dominate here, hard to ignore even if what they are showing doesn’t interest you.

Nice pub near the Marble Arch. Has about six real ales, then the obligatory lager line-up. Good prices. Has a dynamic set-up with a horse shoe-shaped bar and lots of different seating. Tables, stools, chairs, booths, picnic tables — you name it. Prices are good. Didn’t have any food. There is one TV in a back-ish room. Hundreds of tap markers line the walls. Place is well-lit, which I like. Will definitely return.

I went here with my family and girlfriend to meet a relative that was visiting from LA. The pub is pleasant enough with an array of locals propping up the bar and having banter with the bar staff. Sometimes pub locals can scour at you a little when you walk in the door but this place seemed to have a nice enough atmosphere. The relative we met was there with friends who lived above the pub and they had great knowledge of the local area and the best places to eat after a couple of drinks. As we got hungrier they described what was on offer and we decided on ordering some grub from a local Iraqi place. They passed around a menu and I thought we were just looking at what we fancied ordering so we could order quickly when we arrived at the restaurant. Then a little while earlier a guy walked in from the restaurant with two huge bags of take-away food and plonked it down on our table. We had ordered food to the bar and I had been none the wiser. I love that this pub allowed us to order food from somewhere else to eat in the bar. It was nice, relaxing and comfortable. As for the food, it was incredible. But you’ll have to read my other review on that titled ‘Minqala’

I’ve only been to this place a few times, but to quote an old body part adage, its a grow-er, not a show-er. They always seem to have a fair few beers on tap at any point, as well as a decent range of wines, ciders and spirits(they even have a malt of the month), all at fair prices. There are a couple of tv screens that have whatever sport is on, but it’s not a sports pub by any stretch. Toilets are also present, which is a bonus, and there is the obligatory proper pub dartboard near the locals. Well worth a few beers!

A very acceptable locale pub. This used to be my local for a while and it’s a pretty nice place. Interior is pretty clean and standard, toilets clean etc. It’s a great place to watch football too with screens visible from everywhere in the pub. Staff are very friendly mix of Poles and Swedes and the manager is a nice guy who is good to locals. I wouldn’t take a trip to this place but if you live in the area(and know the dirth of nice pubs) then this might be the place for you. On a side note there are an interesting bunch of locals, one being almost identical in appearance to a walrus, very funny to watch him attempt to cycle away drunk in the evening.

So glad we found this place. Hardly anywhere good to drink round these parts but this pub is great. Looks small from outside but is actually pretty spacious and spread over 3 floors with a beer garden area upstairs. Plenty of choice of drinks and my friend says the food is really good too. Will be back here many times.

An unpretentious back-street local with a very good and original choice of real ales, just a few minutes from the tourist hub of Marble Arch. The interior is relatively plain, with one section decorated with beer mats on the wall. Most of the seating is at the front and the side, and there’s plenty of standing room at the back. It gets very busy with the after-work office crowd, but after they’ve gone it reverts to being a straightforward and decent pub. Staff seem helpful and pleasant, and they do traditional pub grub, although I’ve not eaten here. Worth knowing about.

This is a straightforward pub with a traditional exterior and fairly plain interior, with some nice tilework just by the entrance. It’s tucked away just a few minutes’ walk from Marble Arch. Seating is at upholstered benches at the front and tables at the back and around the sides, with plenty of standing room. The main draw is the interesting selection of real ales on tap — up to half a dozen. The choice last night included Adnam’s Bitter, Harvey’s Sussex Bitter, Cottage Christmas Cracker and Archer’s Old Bill Bitter. They serve traditional bar food at lunchtimes Monday to Saturday, but we’ve not eaten here. Service is efficient — being in an area with lots of offices it can get very busy with the after-work crowd. There’s Sky Sports on the TV, but it doesn’t seem to be too intrusive. A good respite from shopping in nearby Oxford Street!
