This Spanish restaurant is one of the best tasting meals. All of their dishes are well seasons and it does take me back to my days in Madrid

So when it comes to tapas, for me, there are two types:
1. tapas! :)
2. tapas… :(
This place was clearing the second type…
The staff was super nice, the interior is ok, the wine was nice… but daaayyyyaaaamn, the tapas was very :(!!
We ordered the standard: patatas bravas, empanadas, sliced piggy platter, some spanish cheese, etc…
The empanadas were sad… like fried Chinese dumpling outside filled with something I can only describe as ??? Perhaps it was mashed sweet potato, mashed carrots, or mashed whatever was nearby?
The pat-​bras… also sad! They didn’t taste so bad, but it’s the difference between McD’s fries and nice crispy chips at a pub. The sauce was depressing orange drizzle shizzle and didn’t add much.
The platter o’ sliced piggy… I’m going to say it again… SAD! Just looking at the meat, it didn’t like like good quality and the more darker thicker pieces were touch and dodgy like ASDA brand beef jerky.
Listen folks, I don’t want to be a bad guy by dogging this place, and the food isn’t horrid… The service is good and the interior is fun… it’s just not good tapas! I’ve been to WAAAAAAAY better tapas so under any normal circumstances, I am not able to recommend this place! lo siento!!!

Came here with some friends for a post-​work dinner, and loved it. The staff was very nice and the food was excellent — and we ordered enough of it! Charceuterie, chicken skewers, black rice (rice with squid ink — fantastic, but super rich), calamari, croquettes, and more dishes I can’t even remember. I would order all of them again with the exception of the chicken, which was good but not as good as the rest.
We decided to try a rose cava on a whim, and I’m so glad we did — I’m not a fan of sweet wine, and this was juuuuust on the right side of sweetness for me. I’ll definitely plan to return, especially to check out the cava bar in the basement!
