I was looking through the places that l had bookmarked in London and this coffee shop was next on my hit list. I’m always on the look out for new places to try especially if they are an independent, So l chose a coffee and sandwich to go as we had other plans. Atmosphere. With the décor l felt as if l was in a hair salons waiting room than a coffee shop it might just have been the bright sandalwood coloured walls that was the same colour as my bathroom. Food selection’s On the menu there was hot sandwiches & wraps toasted bagels grilled ciabatta various filled jacket potatoes & soup selection of the day, there was a a display at the end that giant cookies and cakes to go. Service There was a few people in front of me but l wasn’t bothered, it didn’t take long to be served in the end the coffee was well worth the wait & the sandwich l wished that l ordered another one to go. I would definitely go back.

Just had a quick read through Jenni’s review. I can actually remember this to be a tiny record store before it just turned into a permanently boarded up wasteland. So good to see an independent coffee shop spring up! Unfortunately, my first encounters have been rather disappointing — experiencing neither haste nor smile. I actually walked off the first time I tried — as I live and work locally I have the luxury of choice without having to resort to Café Nero across the road … Today I missed the commuter rush and joined a relaxed queue with only one guy in front. The girl taking the order was decidedly grumpy and returned to reading her book before either of our coffees were ready. I fully understand the concept of adding sugar on customers’ behalf as it saves time, waste and mess but somehow it just doesn’t feel right to me. The coffee itself was OK and good value at today’s overpriced standards(£2.20 for a double) but nothing to write home about.

Every morning I have been walking past the tiny disused unit next to Ladbroke Grove Station. I’d often day dream about what I’d do to make use of the empty space. Teeny tiny record shop? London’s smallest nightclub? Until one day a couple of months ago when I saw it’d be taken over by the Camden Coffee House. Bingo! It’s true what they say — the best things come in small packages. Positioned perfectly between the tube and the bus stop, and open from 6.30, the CCH is a commuters morning haven. Proper coffee served with haste and a smile. But one of the best things is Sunni. Owner(I believe?) of all four branches, he genuinely puts a smile on my face whenever I walk in. Always upbeat, he is the embodiment of service with a smile. What more can you ask for with your morning cup of Joe?
