Calumet Euston, it’s a great store, everything is great but except from the Floor Manager ‘Jamie’ who served me on both 2 separate occasions. His attitude toward customers is not great at all, as I found him rather rude in the way he spoke. I came to refund a product because I had found it cheaper elsewhere, he asked where and I told him where, he raised one eyebrow at me. His expression and the way he looked at me like I was some kind of idiot, I found this extremely rude. He looked back at me with his raised eyebrow, and replied«right…okay… well do you that… etc???» I’m not sure about the other staff… but it would be nice if he had a more positive and friendly attitude toward customers. The experience for me was rather unpleasant because of him. On the other hand, during my first shop at calumet euston I was served by Amanda, she was such a lovely lady, very nice and helpful. If you ever visit Calumet in Euston, try to avoid Jamie.

Calumet Photographic is most definitely, the perfect epicenter for me to go, if I am looking to purchase anything for professional photography use, e.g. a hot shoe connecting wire for flashgun, camera custom brackets for either Nikon or Canon. Honestly, Calumet Photographic in Drummond Street,(near Euston Railway Station) — is the number one, top destination for professional photographers and photography enthusiasts alike. I know quite a lot of paparazzi photographers, friends of mine, who are customers at Calumet Photographic in both Euston and Soho. And these guys have purchased other professional miscellaneous items from Calumet’s. The staff of Calumet Photographic in Euston, are always knowledgeable and very helpful whenever I needed to purchase an item and if they do not have, whatever I am looking in stock, they always try their best to see if they can get in for me. Established since 1939, Calumet Photographic was founded by Kenneth Becker. The world headquarters of Calumet Photographic is based in Chicago, Illinois.

A great find! Really friendly and knowledgeable staff and an excellent selection of equipment in-stock. They do seem to go for the higher-end/pro market — but, for me, that’s quite nice to see as there are a lot of shops catering to other areas. I also believe they have a shop near Manchester — I’ll be visiting that as soon as I can.

good offer on rentals at the moment, get 3 days over the weekend for the price of one day(but you have to return equipment by 10am prompt on monday) My only gripe, rented some equipment from them, asked their professional opinion about what I would need and turned out I didn’t get everything to get the job done kinda wasted my weekend a bit.

This place is like a sweet shop to a fat kid. And I’m the fatty here! For the average camera geek… this place is well stock full of lighting and lens goodies to render you broke in 1 hour flat! The first time I came here was to take one of the studio lighting workshops. Wow! What a class. For 90 pounds, I had an advanced course for 6 hours. Can’t believe they even threw in lunch(sandwiches, crisps and drinks). Nice touch! I’ve been taking courses since I upgraded my dslr. and sadly most turn out to be amateur, but this one was pro. I finally learnt something new! I found out how much I need to learn about studio lighting. Eeks! But during the 10 minute breaks we had here and there… others ran to the loo… I glazed my eyes on all the lenses… camera bodies… tripods… bag… lights… everything. Sorry… talking about it makes me drool. But… yes it’s expensive. It’s in a shop. If you don’t like that… risk buying something for 2,000 grand on ebay for 1,800. But warning… you don’t want to buy something that expensive on ebay. Amazon… yes, or in a shop like this… yes. But it’s the best camera shop in london!

Ive been here a couple of times and I suppose I have only have a couple of things to say about it. Pros — well stocked photographic shop for amateurs and studio work, with good staff and in a good location. Cons — For many things I found them expensive and much of the time they only had very expensive branded products when a generic would suffice(eg lens cap covers, hoods) Great place but I think more aimed at the professional photographer.

Having gained alot of the staff from the marvellous photographic shop, Kingsleys — previously on Tottenham Court Road I would highly recommend this shop for quality service

Probably my favourite photography shop, although with some faults. I slightly prefer shopping here to shopping online, although of course they cannot compete with, say, Warehouse express for stock. Good points, plenty of stock on display, good prices, good and helpful staff. Good and helpful staff can also be a bad point. If you go at the wrong time, and the staff are all involved with lengthy sales pitches, you can have a long wait. Not too sure about the sensor cleaning service. Had mine cleaned, and paid for the express service, but I don’t think it was cleaned at all.
