So, you’ve just gotten off a 10 hour flight to London, gotten settled in your hostel in Piccadilly Circus, and have grown tired of walking around and checking out the surrounding area. It’s cold, it’s raining, and all you want to do is sit down to a good meal. Café Apogee is a great remedy for this exact situation. Even from the outside, it looks cozy and inviting. Like my good friend Michelle L. said, the menu is much more Mediterranean than French. The chicken dish I got was amazingly prepared(I think the rosemary is what did it for me). I didn’t really care for the cocktail I got(I think it was the Apogee Passion?). It was just a little too sweet for my taste but still pretty tasty none the less. I loved the service and the whole atmosphere of Café Apogee and would definitely go back if I’m ever in London again.

My friends(Joseph D., Najah Y., and a couple of others) decided to try this place since it was relatively close to our hostel in Piccadilly Circus. It was a nice rainy night in London and we were quite happy to get into the warmth and eat(it had been hours since our last meal on the airplane). Walking into the place, you can’t help but feel warm and cozy. Since there was 5 of us we were seated in the back on one of the banquettes. The menu to me was more Mediterranean in nature as there was a lot of lamb dishes. 3 of my friends had lamb, while Najah Y. & I had chicken. The chicken had a great texture and fantastic flavor. The saffron rice was perfectly made(I may be biased as saffron is a love of mine). I tried some of my friends lamb dish and was quite surprised by how much I enjoyed the taste. I’m usually really ick about lamb but this really made me rethink about avoiding lamb dishes on menus. I had a cocktail with my dinner. I mean, gotta get the drinking started somewhere right? The cocktails had a good amount of alcohol in it, not too much to make your lips pucker in distaste. I would definitely pop back into this place when I’m in London next time. The service was good as was the food. Definitely a good start to my London trip!

The Apogee is situated right next to the Prince Charles so it’s a great place to go for coffee, cocktails and snacks right before a film. The owner was super-friendly and made us feel very welcome. The staff was efficient, although the place was hopping on Valentine’s Day. The coffee was one of the best he’s had in London, according to my partner, I had a delightful freshly squeezed orange juice, and our friend had a Campari and Orange Juice which was very delicately executed and presented. My partner opted for the carrot cake with rose cream and was oohing and ahhing during each bite. As a matter of fact, he moved it as far away as possible from us and growled when we came near. ; A great place, great atmosphere, highly recommended.

Another good lunch venue in the centre of town. Just fresh from a lick of paint I was very pleased to be sewrved a fresh toast cheese bagette with a good salad and sprinkling of chips. Fresh apple juice with a piece of apple in it and ice, freindly service and great location. Next time you are in town looking for good food try the Apogee. I will go back and some of thier other dinner dishes as well!

This is a great place, with great coffee because it’s lovely and weak, just how I like it. Central and not full of tourists, a nice little find but can sometimes be full of business people escaping the office. So it’s quite good for listening in on all sorts of conversations you shouldn’t be hearing like the next Google venture. good pastries in the morning if you’re hungry and not on a diet.

Situated just off Leicester Square, this is a great little place to escape the crowds over a coffee, or something stronger. The food is reasonably priced(around £50 dinner for two with wine is about right), and well presented. The layout of Apogee presents lots of nooks and crannies, allowing for private conversations. If you’re stuck for somewhere to take a first date, you can’t go far wrong here. It’s unpretentious, quiet and friendly. Useful fact to impress the aforementioned first date: Apogee is an old French word for a type of cooking pot, I think.
