A real mess of a pub. It’s not that big, but it’s almost impossible to find your friends in a crowd. There’s a weird upstairs bit reached via a spiral staircase and a low-ceilinged bit underneath. So that’s where they were hiding! A bit claustrophobic and I was happy when the group decided to continue on to the next one — the area is idea for a pub crawl, there’s a great choice of much more interesting boozers than this one! Still, the place was packed with people spilling out onto the pavement. We had great fun seeing people stumbling over a sign warning of spillage — the drops of spilled beer would probably have been less dangerous than a plastic board in the middle of a busy bar. Not much of a beer fan myself, I opted for a glass of white wine. Generic taste, not sure it even was the Sauvignon Blanc I asked for(someone else was paying so decided against making a fuss). I think this indifference sums up the whole experience.

Horrible service, waiters have attitude while ordering. The most disgusting thing I found was my water cup having red lip stick, I complain to the owner and he just laugh it off towards his waiters. I guess this is usual? … Avoid at all cause, I only went here due to the cosmol tour which I had to paid $ 100 extra for this food and a boat ride which I could have done by it self and ate in a better pub.

Ordered their fish and chips and it was pretty good. The fries were a little dry but with some hot sauce and lemon juice, it was good. They are well known for their beer so I tried one of their pale ales. It was not bad but I am not a beer drinker myself. My family enjoyed their beer and wine so that was a good sign.

Nice place to sit and and grab a pint or few with friends by the main meat market and awesome specialist carnivore joints(so my friends tell me). No TVs though so off we went in search of one.

I would not recommend this place at all. They refused us service even though they had numerous tables available. The menu showed traditional English pub foods but had no desire to serve it to us. Don’t even bother.

Large pub, convenient for the church behind it(where bits of Four Weedings and a Funeral were filmed, apparently). Bizarrely seems to shut occasionally on a Saturday; presumably this si to do with the absence of the office crowd.

This is a typical Fuller’s pub, serving great beer and good food. If your coming to London this is a good area for pubs and this one has the best food service I’ve sen for a long time. Very noisy at lunchtime but quietens down

A traditional Fullers ale and pie house just off the Farringdon and Smithfield beaten track, that is as good or as bad as most other Fullers pubs, depending on your taste. It seems hugely popular with the after-work crowd, which means between 6−8pm on weekday nights(especially Thursdays and Fridays) it can be too busy for its own good, with a fight to get served and an obstacle course to return to a table with drinks. And it’s popularity might well have as much to do with the fact it’s one of the few old school boozers in the area as anything special about it — the tiny Bishop’s Finger 100 yards away is the only competition other than the trendier bars and clubs in Farringdon. Once it’s quietened down though, it can offer a good pub night out. The drinks are the predictable Fullers range, but that’s no bad thing, and the food is good enough for grazing. For bigger events a real positive is their readiness to offer reserved areas, even to the back of the downstairs bar, or on the mezzanine area.
