Really simple menu! It’s either Burger, or Lobster(steamed, or grilled, or served on a brioche bun). The brioche bun option is nice — but in my opinion not as nice as half a steamed and half a grilled lobster. As other reviews confirm — served with great skinny fries and some salad. I’d also recommend the olives! As it’s in Clerkenwell, it does get really busy — but the service is fine — well worth a visit.

Looking for the perfect place for a payday lunch? You really can’t beat Burger & Lobster in terms of value, but it feels like a treat, too. I’d been to the Dean Street location previously, but I much prefer the Farringdon location — much less chaotic. At the chain’s Soho location you are more likely to face a crowd, and there’s something unsettling and off-putting about eating while the people around you are angling for your table — personally, it doesn’t make for a particularly pleasant dining experience. The menu is simple — you have the choice of lobster(grilled or steamed), lobster roll, or burger — all with a side salad and chips for £20. For those who can’t be forced to choose, if you have a willing companion you can split both — each get a burger, and half a lobster for around £30 which also comes with a dessert, as seen below. I went for the grilled whole lobster, which came with a buttery sauce, salad and fries. Deliciously succulent lobster, perfect fries and a lovely salad — it’s so simple, but it’s a recipe for success. All in all, a thoroughly enjoyable working or payday lunch, at excellent value. The atmosphere is pretty casual, so although the menu might seem impressive this is more a place to come with friends rather than a date. And leave your vegetarian friends at home — there’s nothing for them here!

As soon as I told my parents there is a place here where a lobster is 20 pounds, they wanted to try it. I told them it was an american lobster, not the delicious mediterranean one, but the sweeter american one, still decent but well… difficult to compare without a condescending smile! Anyway, for 20 pounds you get a nice lobster(steamed or grilled), some fries and a butter(or garlic butter sauce). Not a bad deal. There is really nothing more to say, the lobster is nice but not great, that’s it. I think everybody should try it once just for knowing how it is, then… well it’s a good place where to go if you are with some friends, just for trying something new

Been a couple times over the last few years and have to admit cannot really buy into the hype around this chain. Yes the lobsters are good value but there are a load of places now in London with similar lobster prices. As for the burger… well overpriced for what you get.

The lobster roll, served in a warm toasted brioche bun, was just superb and by far the best lobster I’ve ever had in any form. Their lobsters are fresh from Nova Scotia(that’s in Canada friends). As I’ve always wanted to go to Nova Scotia for a lobster roll, I think I can technically check one thing off my bucket list! Melted garlic butter comes on the side in a metal cup and I was generously pouring the butter over my bun as I ate which made the lobster even more awesome. At first the bun seems a little small but as you are halfway through the roll you begin to appreciate that it really is a very dense roll. The fries were done just right, with their toasty temperature an excellent contrast to the deliberate cool temperature of the lobster meat that is lightly mixed with Japanese mayo. With the side salad and fries the £20 meal filled me up just right. Even hours later this I keep thinking about how good that lobster roll was and how I can’t wait to go back.

They prepared my lobster to perfection. Very nice atmosphere for a casual night with friends. Friendly service and nice cocktails.

My only complaint here is that I could eat a few more of these. I ordered the grilled lobster with butter sauce and it seemed to go pretty quickly! This restaurant is interesting in that it only serves 3 items. 1 lobster(grilled or boiled), 2. Lobster roll, 3. Burger. All are served with fries and salad and all options are 20 pound. The menu is given verbally to you and the food was very quick to arrive! They have an extensive drinks menu that play on the lobster and burger them, however, I order wine to go with my meal. This is a very popular place in London and doesn’t take any bookings so hopefully the line isn’t too long to wait!

Went there with a friend for his birthday and we had the most amazing time! The menu was very straight forward, only 3 options! Our waiter was super nice and he recommended the steamed lobster with chips which we went with. Even though the menu was so small he was more than happy to accommodate for my dietary requirements. He even arranged for a birthday surprise, so much fun! Would recommend this place to anyone.

This place has a winning concept and it is sticking to it! 20 quid per meal gets you a choice between a whole steamed or grilled Lobster, a loaded burger, or a mouth watering Lobster Roll. Lobster roll stands are kinda famous where I’m from I’ve been craving a proper one and was not disappointed with this delicious combination of buttery bread and lobster chunks. Unfortunately it’s clearly not of equal value to having your own whole lobster because I finished mine well before my mates cracked their second claw. My advice is go for the lobster but if you’re a bit a of regular give that juicy roll a shot.

Such a treat to have lobster, even better that it’s £20. We always get a lobster and a burger and have half each, or if there’s a few of us, get a burger for the table. Super friendly fast service, well worth the wit and the cocktails are gorgeous too.

Been here with a work buddy — we both got the lobster roll. Since everything was 20 quid, I was a bit reserved on its value. Needless to say, when I dove right in the lobster roll, it was refresh, cool, and tasty full of creamy lobster(maybe a bit much on the creamy part). The chips that were served were nice and hot, thin and stickly, with just the right amount of seasoning/salt. Salad was also good, but then again, I am not a salad guy. Service was good — the wait staff made sure we were taken cared of, and that it was. My buddy and I left happy with good service and full bellies. Next time I come back, I am going to try the other two options… though it may be the lobster! The place was a bit loud, and if you care about your clothes not smelling like burgers, chips and lobster, then go elsewhere. More room and opportunity for me!

Um wow. If anyone needs their lobster fix, this is the place to go. Can’t beat the deal of £20 for a delicious grilled lobster with garlic sauce, chips, and a salad. Granted, didn’t even consider the burger, but how could i?

I love lobster. In a bit of an unhealthy way(not that lobster is unhealthy, it’s actually quite good for you). My colleagues actually regretted taking me there, when they watched me for 45min eat each single teeny tiny bit of lobster in my lobster — just couldn’t get enough of it. And for £20? Bargain! Not sure I would pay that much for a burger, must say. Oh but man, lobster. So… Why 4 star and not 5? — Because the restaurant in Farrigdon has a weird atmosphere. Service was«okay», seems like they were trying to be a bit posh — whereas who can look classy with a plastic bib on and lobster juice up to their elbows?(Should we mention the burger?) — The drinks are stupidly expensive. But this kind of follows my comment about it trying to be a classy place. But yeah, just go there if you have a lobster craving :3

The good was well priced and the atmosphere was fun, but I can’t seem to find a reason to give more than three stars. For 20 quid you get either grilled lobster or a burger and fries and a salad. Simple as that. Split the lobster with my date and we both were pretty full. Washed everything down with a Brooklyn lager. Just not four star territory.

Oh that big ol’ juicy lobster… Get into my belly my friend! What a brilliant concept, you can only choose between a burger, a lobster, or the lobster roll. Why not? The lobster was absolutely delicious and don’t forget to order the garlic oil/sauce with it en just droooooown your lobster in it. Sooooo good! The burger is overwhelming, sorry — NO other word for it! My colleague picked it up and I swear, I almost couldn’t see his head anymore. Needless to say, I requested a bite. And. It. Was. Awesome. Burger heaven, for sure! But remember: serious food business so make sure you’re hungry to devour this beast. And they receive bonus points for their Pinot Noir. Overall — great experience! And… Now this just here-say, and please use this info wisely… I’m going to share this with you… Burger & Lobster is popular in town. Let me rephrase: HIGHLY popular and it’s quite difficult to get a reservation, especially if you feel like ‘going on a whimsy’… This Farringdon location is nót that super-duper-busy yet. Great chances that you will be able to eat here, even when you call 30 minutes beforehand.

A top rating from me. Burger, lobster or lobster roll + fries. One us ordered the burger, the other the lobster roll. We shared 50⁄50(not a bad idea I suggest.) Food comes on a tray with fries and a tiny side salad. It’s great, properly executed with quality components. The place is buzzing, the staff are on the top of their game, the kitchen is firing on all cylinders and the food hits the spot.

There’s one restaurant that’s been particularly trendy in London. The name is clear and concise: Burger & Lobster. There’s no menu, only three dishes are served: Burger, lobster and lobster roll. For 20 pounds each, it doesn’t take a genius to figure which is the most popular one. In a city like London where a depressing plate of salad can easily cost 10 pounds, a meal of lobster, salad and fries for 20 pounds is truly a steal. Thus it’s not surprising that this place has become enormously popular, and has expanded to 4, 5 branches in London. I tried to go to the Soho branch once and the queue was 2.5 hours at 5pm. A little too ridiculous even for this crazy foodie. Today we chose the Farringdon branch. It had a 20 minute wait at 7:45, and there’s a nice bar area to wait about. Not bad at all. The lobster was very fresh. You can get it steamed or grilled. The steamed version with a dash of lemon juice and a light cider was absolutely heavenly. Fries and salad were lovely as well. Will recommend!

They have hearty burgers. They have whole lobsters. They have lobster brioche. They have chips. They have salad. They have butter & garlic butter. And that, my friends… is the menu. All £20. Which, if you break it down… pricey for a burger or a lobster roll, great deal for a lobster. It’s all inclusive of sides though, so in the grand scheme of things… it’s about what you’d pay elsewhere for similar fare. Simplified. — Vegetarian? Probably not. I would not suggest for you. As Emily C’s ode to «shelly friends» alludes to… it’s all carnivore and shellscavore up in here. At first I was a bit wary… as I’ve been trying to detox a bit, but when you break things down… a whole(fresh) lobster with a side salad is not too shabby in the health department. It does come with a BOAT of garlic butter, but even a bit of that isn’t going to do too much harm. All in all I really enjoyed my first whole lobster, it was prepared perfectly, the salad(they gave me two since I opted out of chips!) was fresh and flavorful, very simple. Our server was quite jovial… When a restaurant chooses to do 3 things… you can bet they do those 3 things VERY well, and in the case of B&L, this is true. Very, very well. 4 stars, 2 claws and a bib up!

Under the sea Under the sea Nobody beat us Fry us and eat us In fricassee We what the land folks loves to cook Under the sea we off the hook We got no troubles Life is the bubbles Under the sea Sorry my little shelly friends. Cute as ye are, you gotta go. Burger & Lobster is here — making lobster affordable, delish, and easy to try out if one’s never had the opportunity before. I am told that there are four of these restaurants around the city, and I have no doubt there shall be more to come. As many have mentioned in previous reviews, there are only three choices on the menu — lobster, lobster roll, or beef burger. Each costing £20, just so’s there’s no confusion ya hear. Obviously, this makes the burger a pretty goddam expensive one. And unfortunately I can’t vouch that it was worth it, as all of my party went for the lobster in one form or other — gotta get your money’s worth! I have never actually eaten a lobster ‘whole’, so this was definitely entering a whole new territory for me. Our waiter was a wholeheartedly pleasant chap who took lots of time to instruct us on the eating techniques of our poor little buddies.(Tip for those who don’t know — eat the meat inside the claws last as it stays hottest the longest!) The lobster came with a gravy boat of melted garlic butter, a tin of fries, and a green salad. Overall it was truly delicious. The one thing I would suggest to improve to a five star marking would be an improvement on the fries. They were nice, don’t get me wrong, but I guess I was expecting something a bit more special than the average straight cut no seasoning stuff we got. But hey, lots of folks may be relieved about that. Overall, apart from the plastic bibs which are obviously worth going to B&L alone for, other top points to note are the extensive drinks menu(superb cocktails), extremely amenable staff, and slick yet comfy décor.

Burger. Lobster. Those choices sound good? Excellent, because that’s all they serve here. For £20 you can get an excellent lobster, lobster brioche(aka lobster roll) or burger with a side of chips and salad. Drinks are extra, but they’ve got a nice bar(I got my first gin fizz in London, as it’s just not a popular drink here and I miss it so.) This is one of four Burger & Lobsters in the city(currently, they seem to be growing like crazy). I’ve tried to get into the one in Soho a few times now, but every time I went, it was insanely packed and had hours of wait. I was worried the same would be here in Farringdon, even at 6pm on a Monday night. Nope, not even close. We walked in and had our pick of tables. We were going to be sat at what the host said was«the best spot in the house,» a round table at a corner booth, but apparently due to it being freezing outside, that spot was incredibly drafty. How it can be the best table and kill you with a little wind, I do not know, but we sat at a different booth instead. It’s a large, mood-lit almost chic-barn like feeling with high ceilings. There’s a bar and an open kitchen in the middle of the space and tables all around it. Our waiter was an incredibly pleasant guy who came with smiles. He explained the concept of the restaurant and we ordered. I got the lobster roll and holy god was it good. Perfectly buttered and toasted bun with a ton of meat. I didn’t think I was that hungry but I ate every bite. My friends got the lobsters, which was fun, and of course came with a specially designed Burger & Lobster plastic bib. The lobster’s come pre-cracked so it’s easy enough to get most of the meat out but crackers were provided if you just wanted more. Go for it. And the fries were warm and perfectly salted and the salad was tiny but fresh. A little too heavy on the onions for me(I think there were more onions than lettuce to tell you the truth) but still a great side to a heavy meal. No one tried the burger. I’m sure it’s delicious but £20 for a burger better be the best damn burger in the entire world. We went with lobster. Overall, a great meal. They do only a few things but they do them well.
