My favourite Indian eating place for authentic, healthy and freshly prepared tasty food. A hidden gem which is a quaint and quiet place to take close friends always with a cheerful greeting from it’s owner and manager. Try it; You won’t be dissapointed! Naga chicken I dare you!

I live in the Angel area and this is the best local Indian. Great and super-friendly service, excellent value for money, and nice food. Good selection of standard curries(rogan, korma, madras and all that) plus some very interesting options in the chef’s specials section of the menu. The food is very good, just right when you just fancy a nice curry :) Simple, friendly and unpretentious.

The food tasted fine but we felt that we were charged 10 quid more than what the menu stated. It advertised curry for 5.95 and when we purchased it, it came with rice, which cost 10 quid! Everything we ordered cost somehow twice what it was advertised.

I popped in here for a bite to eat before a gig at the Lexington next door(the excellent ‘Fists’, if you’re interested). With hindsight, it was a shame to have such a tight deadline because the care and attention that went into each dish warranted more savouring and appreciation than our short timescale allowed us. We had mains of panneer shaslick and chicken morissa. Both had the rich, deep tastes that characterises Indian foods but also with a subtle series of lighter, more fragrant spice layers in the overall flavour. If you like Indian food for the incredible number of tastes you can get in just one mouthful — if prepared well — then swing by this place. Just make sure you give yourself enough time — with apologies to all bands in the support slots :-)

Beyond disgusting. We fell into this place because it was late, there was nowhere else around — and it looked like it’s going to be a little gem. Appearances can deceive. I had no idea you could even get«Indian» food like this any more. It was like a 1970s timewarp. Highly coloured gloopy, massively sweet sauces smothered over traces of unpleasant meat-like substances. Really pleasant surroundings, and the service was delightful. Not expensive. But we left wondering if they were genuinely doing their best –or pandering to what they imagine to be British taste. Twelve hours on, I’m still thinking of the meal in disgust. Horrible.

Very impressed with this make-over, from what used to be a fairly bog-standard Tandoori into something altogether more special. Stuck on a backstreet between King’s Cross and the Angel, the old flock wallpaper has been banished for a much more chic feel. The smell of the cooking was divine when we walked in. They still have all the old favourites at decent, tho not hugely cheap, prices. What made this place such a discovery the other day was the ‘Mains’ menu with many South Indian specialties you don’t normally see, like Kerala Fish Curry and Murug Xacuti, plus what look like some experiments by the chef like ‘Flambé O’cognac’ with chicken cooked in wine. My fish curry was great, as were Murug, the nan, sag paneer. The cognac chicken a bit dry and the crab cakes had more cake than crab but I will definitely be going back to sample more!
