Boba Yard

Boba Yard is a lovely place for bubble tea. The lady serving me was friendly and helped me make decisions about my drink. The drinks were good as well. There was a downstairs where I heard someone strumming on a guitar, but I was too much in a rush to go see. Do check out this store if you are in the area!

Like Bubble Tea and Table Tennis? AVOID BOBA YARD! Unless you want to be served by a miserable young woman who grunts and rolls her eyes when you order.
She must have an incredible vendetta against the premises or its owners if she hates her job so staunchly that she would rather remain in it and seek retribution by offending customers to the point that they vow never to return, than to hand her notice in.
The place was dirty too — it wouldn’t have taken much effort for her to remove the empty crisp packet and water bottle left on the table the other side of her counter.
There are far better places to find bubble tea in London and plenty of venues with table tennis — there’s no need to spend your money here.

Bubble tea and ping pong — what else do you need, man?!

This is a cute little indie bubble tea shop with a very dedicated ping pong space downstairs. In addition to a myriad of bubble tea flavors (made fresh!) they also have bakery items and treats/​cakes.
I opted for the taro milk tea and my husband the coconut. They have a nice selection of jellies as well for a DIY tea kind of experience. They even made our boba fresh right in front of us, so it wasn’t hard and chewy… soft just like God intended.
My only pet peeve is the lack of ice. Especially in the summer I like my bubble tea (or really any beverage that isn’t served hot — COLD). Lukewarm milk tea makes me gag a bit, so if they had an ice machine this is easily 5-​stars. I know this is a personal preference but it should at least be an option along with all the others!
