Black & Blue

Service was quite slow but very friendly, food was just okay. Cocktails were not that great. I had a salad which looked nice but had nothing much to it. My friend ordered a rib eye steak and was really disappointed with what she got for the hefty price tag. We went in because of the modern exterior, we should have checked the ratings on here beforehand.

Great steak or ribs. They have a funky salad policy. The menu says each entrée gets a salad but if you order three entrees they will give you only 2 salads. When you ask you are told you are expected to share and they do this because they had too much salad waste. They don’t inform you of this and they don’t provide extra plates. Another case of a business covering their own needs while forgetting about the customer

Inside is really modern with red leather booths and a some smaller tables as well. Their fixed lunch menu is available until 7pm (£16 for 2 courses, £20 for 3) and they have a fairly impressive cocktail list as well. Not bad at all for somewhere so close to one of London’s busiest train station and somewhere I’d be more than happy to visit again. They also have a bar area towards the back of the building as well so you can easily pop in for a couple of drinks even if you don’t want to have something to eat.

We we’re a group of expat & vacationing Americans, and had a very good meal here after a lot a walking in the area looking for a decent place.
We all had the bacon burgers, which were very good. The beef was tasty and medium well as ordered; Fries were crispy and hot, not greasy at all. Our kids can be picky about meals, especially while traveling in Europe, but we had no complaints from any of them.
The staff were friendly and accommodating, no issues at all. Ambiance/​décor is nice with a modern feel to it. I would definitely recommend this place to sit and have a good burger while you recharge your batteries from sightseeing.

Wow, just wow… How can you get steak so wrong!
£23 for a ribeye (that comes with cold chips and a salad with some cheese and walnuts ‘thrown’ on it, which is drenched on one side only in dressing), that comes as tough as a boot and not with marbling, but with gristle and a streak of fat down the middle.
Recommend by someone else, this is one of the times when I wish I’d instead looked on Unilocal and taken charge if the booking.
If you fancy a good steak, don’t come here.
My companion ordered a rump well done and it came bloody. My ‘blue’ came medium. Not impressed!
Ambience is okay, but only okay.
Definitely worth a miss.

Contrary to one of the reviews already made about this place I was rather discouraged by the exteriors (such as displaying a yellow& pink cow next to the entrance) but pleasantly surprised by the interiors.
The service was very quick and the food very tasty and nicely presented.
The half roasted chicken Rotisserie looked simply divine served on a wooden platter and tasted even better than looked. The Steak Frites despite being strangely tiny also tasted well especially with Belgian mouthwatering Béarnaise sauce on the side.
What might be worth nothing however is that the fries in a classical Belgian Steak Frites are always double fried. They were not double fried in Black&Blue which took away a form of authenticity of this dish.
These guys serve a few Belgian beers which was a nice touch from a perspective of a Belgian cuisine and beer fan such as myself.
Quality wise (forget the frites) it was a good value for money and satisfaction to the palate…
Waiting staff was very attentive contrary to one of previous reviews.
Maybe they would have more customers if the exterior looked more appealing.

Nothing to write home about. Good ambiance. Pretty good food, I had the ribs (they were baby back) and the spinach and artichoke dip (they were good). Staff a bit socially awkward. Experience a bit expe (nsive).

We were in the area looking for a place to relax and eat; we thought this was going to be good since their restaurant looks quite nice from the outside.
However, we were very disappointed by their service; it took them 20min before their server came over to take our order, another 16min to get our drinks and another 18min to get our food. The steaks were too rare for my liking, I asked the server to cook some more, she gave me an attitude saying that was how it should be. Well, if your customer isn’t able to eat this rare of a steak, you should cook some more no matter what because I can’t eat it like this, and don’t argue how medium should be like to you.
Will not recommend this place.
