I can honestly say it is just as tasty as my first bag of chips I had all there many years ago very good value very tasty and very consistent. 6 stars out of 5.

I am giving this place 4 for the service alone and knocking off one for the quality of the fish and chips. Maybe it’s because I hail from the north where chippy standards are surely higher but the fish could be better. Despite this I continue to pop in here every few months as the proprietor must be the friendliest person in Clapham if not on earth– he is so sweet and lovely that it really gives you a boost just to go in there– maybe I’ll start renting the videos…

They’ve all dined on Benny’s Fish and Chips.
And so have a hundred or so other quintessential B-​list British celebrities, all photographed, framed and hung on Benny’s walls. Waiting for your delicious fried food here is like browsing the listings for regional panto productions. Awesome (and with a few A-​Listers thrown in too!)
And strangely Benny also rents DVDs. I’ve never thought of combining the two in the same shop but I guess it makes pretty good sense… take-​away of fishcake, chips, a battered sausage and a copy of Kung Fu Panda. Jobs A Good’Un

Benny’s has been in the papers since its inception. I think even Michael Jackson got some chips here. It’s famous. It deserves its reputation because this little chippy lives up to its acclaim. There is no frozen food in sight. Everything they make is from fresh ingredients and the chips are actually properly peeled and fried potatoes. They are super cheap too. Two pieces of chicken and some chips are £2. You can never go wrong with a meal from here. It’s good stuff.

Bennys produce the best fish and chips i have ever tasted. They fry the food in ground nut oil and you can taste the difference. The service is very good and very friendly, every time i walk past the place i get a nod hello. If you are after some decent fish n chips you can not go wrong by going to Bennys.

Hailing itself as the best fish’n’chips in Clapham, Benny’s is a truly classy establishment for picking up some quality deep fried haddock and crispy chips. It’s actually really good, and also does a sideline in videos, which I think is a first for a chippie.
Not really an eat in type of establishment, but if you’re looking for hot, fat-​filled food and you’re in the area, do pop in. It’s worth it.
