My wife and I went this evening. We really enjoyed it. The museum and history was very well done, the guided tour of the stills, botanicals, and processes were very interesting, and of course the G&T at the end was great. We ended up buying a bottle of the London Garden as it is only available at the distillery. Our tour guide, Rosaria, was very fun and knowledgable. All in all, good time!

After visiting a distillery in New York I had to go to a tour in London. It was a MUST! With all the Hogarth lectures during my study years and the endless stories how Gin ruined London in the 19th century I needed to go and visit a true London distillery. I don’t think I chose the right place. The entrance fee of 12GBP should have warned me that this is a tourist attraction. Its a tour of a distillery alright, but not with much flavor. They have a great museum part, which is very modern and lovely. They also do a 30min tour of the distillery area … which doesn’t actually allows you access to the distillery. You have a view of the machinery through a kind of skylight from the visitor center. Its not very impressive. The tour guide was very nice and tried his best, but all in all it was rather … unimpressive. We’ve gotten a G&T at the end of the tour, but I had expected more machines and more kind of … well … stuff to look at. We were given some tasters of the different gins they produce when we arrived back in the gift shop and I was very grateful for that, but I had an impression that it was an extra as we were such a small group.
