Best cocktail chain! Be at one does not disappoint. It has the best cocktails, happy hour, choice of drink and service. Each venue is slightly different due to location, hence clientele, and structure, but they always seem to have a quiet area and a loud area. With Upper Street the upstairs is quiet and relaxing while downstairs has the hen parties and the incescent chattering of the horde :-) Sadly upstairs appears never to be open at this Be at One(hint to the manager please open it for the over matured). The cocktail menu is well presented and broken by the spirit i. e whisky, tequila etc so making a decision is easy. Happy hour is 2 for 1 for any drink which is superb(other cocktail bars please learn). The taste never seems to disappoint and they have a good alcohol content :-) The staff at be at one are well trained. They are always friendly and sometimes introduce themselves(Niko, I m talking about you :-)) this makes the experience stand out for anyone and everyone. Is Be at one sophisticated? It’s not a Jazz bar but is really a cocktail night club. So the answer is no. Saying this though it’s always a good way to start a great night as the music and drinks will energise you. Five stars.

Smallish bar with lots of seating suitable for groups and lively pop playing fairly loud in the background. Fab cocktail menu.

I really enjoy a good ol’ cocktail happy hour at a Be At One bar. The Islington branch is nice, pretty much the standard Be At One, dimly lit inside, always pretty busy and playing fun music. We ordered four different types of cocktails, cashing in on the 2−4−1 offer before 7pm. One of our drinks was an expresso martini. After sitting down we realised it didn’t look right or taste nice at all. We mentioned this to a floating staff member who took it away and said she’d bring us a new one. She returned about ten mins later with fresh drinks and told us that our bar tender had forgotten to put the coffee in our original drink! Never mind, at least they fixed it in the end. We finished off the evening with a pornstar martini, lush! Head here for a fun night, book a table for your group and enjoy trying new drinks for low prices during happy hour!

This chain is like an old fave pair of comfy jeans that you keep on coming back to when you can’t be bothered to think up something more imaginative. You can always count on an overwhelming number of cocktail choices on the menu, a chatty server, a great value happy hour and fun music. This branch is no different in any of those areas, and quite large as Be At One’s go being set over two floors. I had no hesitation in booking it as one of the stops on my bday fun crawl to get people warmed up, and it was so easy to transfer the £50 deposit over the phone that you can then redeem on the night. Beware the ensuing chaos of booking on a busy night though. It was a Saturday eve and the server I spoke to about my booking seemed quite overwhelmed when we arrived. I’d asked for an area for 30 but we were ushered towards a couple of tables that you could barely squeeze 10 around. It wasn’t helped by another small group sitting in the same ‘enclosure’ who were supposed to have been booked elsewhere in the bar but ended up being allocated this table because of ‘a mix up’ — when I asked the manager behind the bar about this and my booking, he shrugged it off and made no attempt to reshuffle them. I may not have gotten my area then but I didn’t see any point in getting worked up about it — thankfully my mates all spread themselves around the bar and found places to perch. There was also some confusion over redeeming my £50 deposit as they charged the 12 cocktails I used it for on a mate’s tab, which gave him a mini heart attack when he saw it. Fixed with a quick explanation at the bar though. Still v fond of the chain, but would probably avoid on a weekend eve.
