I was well happy to run into this lovely coffee shop that is literally 20m away from my flat. It provides a cosy sitting area that i find good for working or just reading a book while having a coffee or one of the delicious pastries, sandwiches or salads they sell. The staff is absolutely adorable. They laugh and smile while working which is such a nice portrait when you walk in. The coffee is really reasonably priced and good. I had an avocado and bacon sandwich as well. They offered to toast it so i tried it like that and it was a nice warm lunch. Finally, they have an outside terrace where you can sit during a sunny day.

This is a lovely space and popular with all the local students. Friendly staff. Bright airy, nice space. Enjoyed it. But… the coffee needs a bit of work though, prices are cheap but some people(well I do) see it as £2 wasted rather than 50p saved when it’s not up to scratch. Guess the local student budgets drive that, but otherwise, a nice addition to the area.

This adorable, bright café breaks character with the rest of Elephant & Castle. It’s on London Road just off St. George’s Circus, adjacent to South Bank University campus. It’s also one of the best-kept secrets in the area. Coffee is VERY reasonably priced here. I ordered a large latte made with illy espresso for £1.80. I didn’t type that wrong. £1.80! For just under £4, I got a tasty little coconut raspberry biscuit and enough coffee to power me through the afternoon. They serve an assortment of pastries and sweets as well as sandwiches and pre-packaged salads and fruits. They also have a rotating soup of the day which comes with bread. They don’t have their own wifi network, but you can hop on open access public wifi provided by South Bank University. This is a fantastic place to do some work. There’s even a cute terrace in the back!
