Liegt im Keller, ahnt man nicht, wenn man draußen dran vorbeigeht.
Umfassende Auswahl unterschiedlichster Tapas, sehr lecker zubereitet.
Schnelles und höfliches Personal, sind auch für ein Schwätzchen zwischendurch zu haben — mein Kollege spricht fließend Spanisch, das war ganz hilfreich in diesem Fall.
Was wir im Detail alles an leckeren Dingen auf dem Tisch hatten, kann ich leider gar nicht mehr sagen — doch es war viel und es war ausnahmslos alles sehr lecker.
Wiederholungsgefahr? Absolut!

If you are looking for food and a nice dining experience then do not go here. The tapas is average at best and the service is awful. However, the bar is quite nice and the beer is good.
It should be noted that it is a decent bar and if you want to stand, have a drink (maybe get some small tapas) and watch a Barca game then this may be your place. However for dining it is not so great.
The service was some of the poorest I have experienced. The waiters were a mixture of incompetent, idiotic, apathetic, grumpy, aggressive and damn right rude. We had to wait ages to get a menu, got left for long periods, got stuff delivered to the wrong table and la de da.
I would have put up with the poor service if the food was good. It wasn’t. It was very basic, using cheap ingrediants and doused in salt for flavour.
If you are looking for decent tapas then go to Good Street, Charlotte Street or Soho were you will get much better food! if you want a beer and some footy, then it is probably worth a try.

This place was delicious! It’s a little bit hard to find because the sign is small and you have to go down some stairs.
This is what we ordered to share between 2 people:
pitcher of sangria
pan amb touquet
tiger prawns in garlic and butter
pickled anchovies
calamari
patatas bravas
green peppers
Everything was on the salty side, so the pitcher of sangria definitely helped.
They had pretty friendly service and everything came out pretty quickly.

I love this place! The menu is extensive and the food is authentic and fresh. The waiting staff are polite and welcoming. Makes a great after work dinner venue.

Barcelona Tapas is an exciting restaurant situated in Lime Street. Definatelly the autentic taste of Spain in London. If you can’t get a break to Barcelona, this might help.

Just got in for a glass of cava and the service was super slow. Not sure it’s good enough for the fast paced city!

Sorry to burst everyone’s enthusiastic bubble, but I don’t get it. After the rave reviews, I was tremendously excited to taste my way through the diverse menu. Unfortunately, I found myself having to convince myself that something wasn’t dry or overly salted more oft than not. By the end of the dinner, I was positive my £20 could have been better spent elsewhere. Where do I begin?
Olive oil was delicious but they charge for each little dish they give you. Bread was, well, not so delicious (tasted a bit like supermarket bread with a bit of a crust) and they charged per person (although this is expected in London). Sangria tasted, as one friend put it, like sugar water. Perhaps they watered it down because we ordered it during happy hour (half off) but it didn’t even taste like half the alcohol.
With the exception of the jamon iberico, the pimientos padron, tacos de berenjenas, and the bunuelos de bacalao, which were fantastic, I thought the rest of the tapas were, at best, okay. This included the albondigas, the pincho diablo, croquetas de jamon iberico, and the list goes on (about 10 more). While none of these were bad, none of them stood out. At this point, the restaurant was batting .307. Good for baseball, not really for food.
But probably the most disappointing dish of the night was the paella. The vegetarian paella one poor girl ordered was straight up salty, which we sent back to the kitchen after everyone had tasted it and confirmed it wasn’t the case of a few sensitive tastebuds. The kitchen agreed that it was over-​salted and she ordered two tapas to replace her paella, which could not be made in time. However, even the Catalana was too salty (we didn’t complain because it wasn’t *as* bad and this one was for 6 people). Everyone just kept drinking water and sangria to dilute the saltiness.
I suppose no one aspect of my dinner was particularly terrible in any sense, but the additive property of many small problems made the meal disappointing.

This place was just delicious. I went twice–
The tapas were just wonderful!
The first time I went I was blown away by the food– and the wine was just delicious– The last night I was in London we had a group dinner and ordered 30 tapas I swear and we were stuffed– but ate every bite.
It was great!
TIP– if you find yourself in London or going to the Tapas Bar– check out their website cause they’ll have discount coupons– print them and you’ll get some $ taken off the bill.

My fondest memory of the neighborhood we stayed while in London was the Barcelona Tapas bar. I came here with my wife’s family for dinner, and it was wonderful. They offered paella which was to be eaten family style, different tapas which didn’t all taste the same, which was really nice. They have an amazing wine list, and I had a little sampling of their meats. Their pincho diablo was an amazing pork dish which was marinated or rubbed with a smoky spanish paprika and cooked with a spicy pepper and wine which brought out this amazing blend of smoke, tang, and saltiness which went well with my paella. Their albondigas was very authentic and homey and reminded me of eating a simple dish in a friend’s family kitchen. I will find pincho diablo the very next time I come back to London, and I recommend you do the same immediately if you’re around.

Don’t be deceived by the outside which looks quiet but it is buzzing downstairs. I have been to Barcelona Tapas Bar on two occasions.
The first time we sat at some high stools next to the bar area at the bottom of the restaurant. We ordered just four dishes and that was enough for two.
We liked it so much that we went back a couple of weeks later with two friends. This time we sat at one of the tables. We got a bit carried away with the menu and before we knew it we had run up a bill of over 150.00. This included several margaritas though which were smaller than usual but nice and strong.
Dishes we liked were chorizo Iberico 5.00 (dry pieces of fresh chorizo), cabrales cheese (really nice aged cheese) 6.95, pollo al ajillo (chicken cooked in garlic and wine 3.95, prueba de cerdo iberico (pork with garlic and potatoes 4.25, gambas al ajillo (large tiger prawns in a garlic, chili and wine sauce, really hot but very good) 6.99, also the Octopus salad is really tasty for 5.00.
Barcelona Tapas bar has a very authentic atmosphere with Spanish music and friendly Spanish staff. Highly recommended but watch the bill, it runs up really quickly.

I had a better food experience in Barcelona Tapas Bar than in Barcelona. Seriously, it’s easier to be a vegetarian here.
Barcelona Tapas does great food. I like to get the vegetarian paella and an tomato sauce based dish with vegetables.
There is delicious olive oil and complimentary olives whilst you wait for your food. I’ve found the service to always be good, except one time when the server didn’t really understand what my father was telling her we wanted and we got the wrong food.
Barcelona Tapas portions are really generous for tapas and I recommend the fried potatoes.
I wouldn’t say this place is really amazing in atmosphere but it’s nice enough. Sometimes the servers watch football but it is not a low class establishment.
I really like this place and I have returned here many times. I hope you will too. Try it.
