It’s a chain, it’s got a ‘heritage’ feel, it’s a decent place for drinks.
I found the staff to be very polite, which must be a challenge in this particular area full of wanker bankers and their attitudes. They offer a good wine list (by the glass and bottle), some interesting gins (like Junipero USA), and lots of classic cocktails like the Old Fashioned.
Generally the place is populated by an after-​work crowd. If you are feeling snacky you can sample the bar food like cheeseboards, burgers, chips, and sandwiches… on the high quality end. I do like the English-​ness of the place; useful if you are entertaining an Anglophile for lunch.

Another branch of the Balls Brother tree which all seems to feel like independent local pubs despite their chain status but all seems to work well and the standard is reasonably high. A mixed bag of locals and workers.
