My favorite Brunch spot in Earls Court — Food quality and service are consistent and always great quality. — Good prices. Three egg Omelette with Balan’s Potatoes is a good price and portion at £7.95 — Mixes a coffee shop, bar and brunch spot into one. I have never been here for dinner, but will be back to Balan’s for many meals to come.

For good quality ingredients, friendly service and surprisingly decent value, it’s hard to beat Balans for brunch. I had the Jumbo Breakfast when I was here, consisting of two fried eggs, sausage, bacon, toast, freshly-made American pancake with fruit and fruit juice. Every part of this deal was good quality, particularly the sausage(often something economised on) and toast. The fruit juice was probably not from concentrate, a cut above normal. The pancake, maple syrup and fresh fruit were all comfortably above average too, making the £9.95 total for this combo pretty reasonable value in the end. There was plenty of space when we swung by. Service was friendly, helpful and quick. The only slight oddity was the pumping dance music that was playing on the balmy Saturday afternoon that we came on. A small detail though. Overall: I’ll definitely be back.

Breakfast/Brunch: 3.5 stars Balans is a solid choice for breakfast/brunch with lots of options of the menu. I wouldn’t go out of my way to go here, but it’s probably the best choice in the area. I had the breakfast burrito which was good, not great(but I live in the US, so perhaps for the UK, it is great). Afternoon Lounge Spot: 4 stars I recently stayed with a friend who lives right next to Balans, and waited there for 3 hours since my plane arrived earlier than he would be home. I ordered a fruit plate and the duck spring rolls(both very good) and hot tea to drink. Free WIFI made the time pass quickly, and the service was great. They stopped by to refill my tea pot with more hot water, and had no problem with me sitting there for so long even though I only ordered a few things. I even got the feeling that it would have been okay if I had just ordered the tea. I’m sure it helped that the place wasn’t super busy, but I don’t think that it would be between meal hours.

Having been to Balans a few times for lunch(when it tends to be very quiet and lacking atmosphere), I was pleasently surprised by its transformation into a buzzing bar at night. The 2-for-1 cocktail happy hour draws in an early evening crowd most of whom stay for dinner. The food is not exciting but well cooked. But what really makes a night at Balans special are its staff who are all extremely welcoming, friendly and funny.

We went here for dinner. I think it’s a solid place, and definitely enjoyed my fish. There are many Balans around — it seems that Londoners decide to duplicate the restaurants they like. I’ll probably be back, and will see how they do a second time around. I heard their burger was also quite tasty, though I did not eat it myself. Gluten-free notes: There were plenty of naturally gluten-free options on the menu.

I’m definitely a fan of this place. Great location(even though everything seems hard to find in Soho), awesome people watching. Martinis are delish, although they need bigger olives. And the tuna was AWESOME. Seriously. Awesome.

This Balans is conveniently located on the corner of Earl’s Court Road and Old Brompton. Like the other Balans, the staff are cheerful and ready to help. The food is of a decent quality, I usually tend to eat breakfast here. The omelettes are well done and chefs can accomodate most requests. Bottom line, Balans is a solid, decent restaurant, a good neighborhood breakfast stop.

Unlike Balans of Soho, Balans in Old Compton street is really nice, really chilled out especially for a Sunday brunch, eggs Benedict are really good here as are the rest of their dishes. Service is also really good, very chilled out. The staff here are extremely different to their sister restaurant in Soho, they are more fun to be around, more accommodating and more chilled plus they look like they enjoy their job and they have fun doing it to. Food is yummy here, good selection to choose from as are the drinks, I guess this would be one of my favourite restaurants to relax with friends on a Sunday afternoon. I give it 4 stars not because that its so great or anything like that but for me enjoying brunch with mates in a chilled comfortable atmosphere its really bliss.

I think the best think about Balans in Earl’s Court is the service; the staff is lovely, with a great sense of humour, but not over-bearing. I have been going there for a while now, mostly for brunch which is normally good — although during my last visit, the food was a bit disappointing(gritty scallops and dry French toast) I am still giving it 4* based on past experience and service, but will update down if the food does not improve next time round.
