This place had, seriously, the best Persian/​Middle Eastern food I have ever had in my life. Portion sizes are very generous, and the prices completely reasonable given the amount and quality of food. We had the mini appetizer sampler, 4 full-​sized entrees (American-​sized portions), and beers, and it came in under 80 pounds. Highly recommended.

We enjoyed a lovely dinner at Azerbaijan the other night. Our waiter kindly helped with the choice of starters and pairings of main course and rice. He also explained how to assemble and eat the refreshing Paneer Sabzi starter. The Azerbaijan special is another recommended starter, as are the yogurt dips. For main courses we had a mixture of stews and kebabs on the table, with various rice dishes on the side (try the Morasa or Albalo Polo!), all delicious with tender meat and ample portions! The whole meal was excellent value for money.

Absolutely satisfied, from the hand made yogurt during with fresh mint to the Azerbaijan version of lamb shank, and finishing with the completely unique lamb meatball, called «koofteh tabrizi», a dish which originated in Tabriz and which I have never before encountered in all my travels. The house wine, a delicious Shiraz, complimented the food well and Babak, our Azerbaijani waiter was excellent – informative, there to recommend and give excellent advice about pairings, but never pushy. An excellent dining experience through and through. My wife and I both left completely satisfied and pleasantly surprised to find this to be not just another middle eastern Russo-​Turkish-​Persian restaurant but truly a unique experience. Be sure to ask for the Classic Azerbaijani dishes if this is what you desire. Ask for Babak if he is available!
