The Hackney Bureau is a great little corner café just over the road from Vyner Street it serves the usual coffee, breakfast, and brunch fare In the evening there’s a simple but perfectly executed dinner menu and the place is also BYOB!

Such spare design you might even think it’s under-​designed. No sign save a sandwich board. At the start of Mare Street (hint: it’s on the corner. Without the sign).
Super nice people, rather good coffee, and seasonal weekly food specials that are generally a hit, and at reasonable prices. The day I went? Pulled pork sambo. Homemade bread. Gherkins. A really nice salad of fava beans and roast butternut squash and arugula.
Communal tables, free wifi (best.password.ever.dude.) Carafes of water on the tables… now if it were only in Brixton…
They probably wouldn’t be able to afford the rent.
