Ajax Stationers

I had been here a few other times, and customer service was never anything special prior to this instance. But today, they outdid themselves. They had the gumption to accuse me of being a liar when I told them a competitor’s rates were the SAME as theirs for printing and scanning. Um, why would one lie about THAT? Duh. [So over to Kopykat, I went.]
I hereby promise to never set foot in their shop again. Over and out.

Weirdly enough there are not that many stationeries around Shoreditch, even though you would think considering there are so many small design stores and marketing agencies around there.
Ajax store is the local stationary where I go when I forgot buying it at Ryman’s. They have a small selection of the basic needs. Even though I do not trust their prices, as I think there is a quite high margin on it. On the other side I am happy they are placed so central for the convenient factor.
Especially their colour prints are of excellent quality! What I find funny that you give leave your USB stick behind the counter and the prints come out in front of the counter — they are not picked up for you nor are you asked if you want an envelop — customer service?
Shame they are not open on a Saturday/​Sunday — that would make them more special then other stationeries…

As a young runner at a fledgling Shoreditch media company some years ago I used to frequent Ajax Stationers in its Kingsland Road incarnation on a regular basis. Now it has moved to a more handy location on Old Street but it is still run by the same charming people with the same wonderful stock at the same reasonable prices.
It would not be an overstatement to say that I love stationery shops. I’m like the Theo Paphitis of shoppers and can’t walk past a stationery shop without going inside. And Ajax Stationers does not disappoint.
With a locally unrivaled range of papers, pens, ring-​binders, jiffy bags, ink cartridges, post-​it notes and so on, Ajax Stationers is as useful as it is friendly. And with copying facilities on site you can do all your photocopying here as well. It doesn’t get much better than that.
