I was nervous about going in. Who isn’t nervous when they go into a salon? We all have this nightmare that we’ll walk out with blue hair or a bald spot or something, but thankfully that has never happened to me. I was pleasantly surprised at how well my hair turned out. I don’t know the stylist’s name, but she listened to my desires and transformed my look into something beautiful. I couldn’t believe the volume my hair had and how different I looked. I would definitely recommend this place.

I was in desperate need for a haircut last Saturday and not for any particular reason-just because my split ends were crying for help. I turned to my helpful friend Unilocal for some assistance in finding a place in Richmond I could get a cut in between shopping breaks and came across A&N which had some great reviews. I’ve worked past this salon a few times while in Richmond but never noticed it. When I read the reviews on Unilocal,I thought to give it a try. I was looking for a cut and dry but they could only do a cut at the time I wanted. Hesitant of two things, the fact that it was freezing outside and I didn’t want to be cold and also the fact that I’ve never tried this salon before, I had to think about it. As I continued to read the reviews, I decided to take the plunge and book for 2:30pm. I called around 12pm for an appointment. As I walked in, I noticed how nearly organised and clean it was and that’s important to me. The salon is a small shop with two male and two female hairdressers from what I saw. The staff were nice and took my coat and scarf when I walked in. Within 30 minutes or less, I got a wash and new haircut. My only issue is the fact that I felt as though the lady(dark hair, can’t remember her name) was judging me because of my split ends and didn’t really pay attention to what I was saying. Nevertheless, I got a nice cut so she must have some multi tasking ability with a «let’s get it done quickly» personality. My haircut was £28 and because I checked into the salon through Unilocal,I get a men’s cut for £12 instead of £16. That would be of some use to someone.

Walked in today, desperate. Thought I could make my cut last all 9 weeks away but. .. My hair was cut by a wonderful stylist named Barbara. She clearly knew what she was doing and understood just what my growing out style required. She was very sympathetic to the eight months of growing out, with Tim’s of course, I’ve done so she left my top layers to grow further and trimmed it all into. Lovely bob. I’m very pleased! Such good service at a very reasonable price for a visitor(when so often my accent leads to higher prices) is very much appreciated and deserves five stars!

I moved to Richmond yesterday and my husband needed to find a hair salon before starting work here in the UK on Monday. Naturally, I turned to Unilocal for help and found A&N Style. We walked in around 1pm and they were able to take him right away. We didn’t catch the name of the guy who performed the cut, but he was young and nice. He did a really great job on my husband’s short style and is incredibly affordable. Shockingly affordable for the quick and professional job that he did. This is likely where my husband will continue to go now that we live here. The only reason I didn’t give the place 5 stars is because it doesn’t feel super special or make you feel like a million bucks to be in the salon space, something I think every salon should try to do — even for guys. But they’re very close!

I ran into a bit of a disaster when I tried to chop off my hair for a messy bob that I was going for, sitting in my room with a mirror and a pair of regular scissors. I thought that I could pull it off, since it is, after all, a messy look… right? The next day, I tied and pinned up all my hair as best as I could, and went around Richmond looking for a reasonably-priced hair salon to fix the embarrassing damage. I was looking for something under £30, and came across A&N Style near Richmond station offering a wash & cut for £27. I walked in at 4pm on a Friday, and managed to get an appointment for 5.30pm. I was served by a Polish hairdresser named Barbara, who was friendly and chatty initially, but then quietened down to concentrate on my hair. I showed her pictures from my iPhone of the style I wanted, and the end product was very accurate.(Even though my softer Asian hair didn’t wave like the caucasians’ in the pictures, she somehow managed to make it work!) There was a lot of layering and texturing done to my hair, giving it the shape and body that I wanted — as an experienced hairstylist who used to work in Selfridges, Barbara knew what she was doing. The whole thing was about 30 – 45 minutes, because I requested a shorter length at some point. She blow-dried my hair as well, and it looked great,(and still does) with a great shape and even but spiky layers, which got me countless compliments from friends and family! They’ve got other services such as colouring and highlighting, threading, waxing, among others. There are 20% off discounts for O.A.Ps(9am to 1pm) and students.(Tue to Thurs) I’ll definitely return to A&N Style when I need a haircut again, and I’ll look for Barbara, when she’s in on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.
