A great location, a wonderful setting, a magnificent building, a Michelin starred menu and a wonderful wine list — would more could you ask for?
I was lucky enough to be taken here for a work team meal and have to say I was blown away by the place (I only just learnt it was a 1 Michelin Star restaurant).
You can tell — the food was fantastically presented, it tasted great and each course was an absolute delight.
The staff were very friendly and knew their stuff — the sommelier was very good as to cope with my very fussy colleague.
Full of city suits on week nights which gives it a fairly vibrant feel for somewhere so cutting edge and contemporary.

Used to be 5⁄5 stars but recently the zing has gone from the actual food over the past year or so.
Staff are delightful. Décor and ambiance are fine but the magic used to be stored in the kitchen only a couple of years ago seems now to have escaped (or at least taken a little vacation). A case in point is the smoked haddock with poached egg — previously delightful, now just nice.

I remember this location when it was a bank, and it was curious to see the bar underneath the skylight, where the main cashiers used to be. So the setting is rather stylish, and not a little noisy, although the ambience is quite nice with soft lights and lots of intimate couples chatting away. However, I was not spectacularly impressed by the dinner I had, nor by the service which was rather haphazard. The dishes I had seemed rather formulaic and contrived and did not wow me as much as I had expected. The salmon could have be done by any cook and the poulet was a little stringy. But maybe it was just that evening and I really feel that the place can do much better, so I will try this place again later in autumn.
