Not a bad beer garden so we sat in it, and not a bad menu either, with a bit of Indian, Mexican and Italian thrown in there. You have to order inside which is a bit annoying, and unfortunately you have to pay then. It’s also very much a local so the beer selection is pretty poor too. I ordered Haggis, Neeps and Tatties for the starter, and for the main the double-quarterpounder with bacon, cheese, and bbq sauce. The starter was surprisingly nice, it was a turned out dome of layers of each, on a creamy whisky sauce. The haggis was obviously a good brand, and the whisky sauce was light but tasty. All good in the hood so far. The burger came and I was pleased to see skin-on chips. Really tasty too. I couldn’t wait to tuck into my burger now… but then the disappointment. The bun was not great quality, not very flavoursome and it broke up before the end. The burgers were the same, I’m not sure if they were homemade or not, but they were a bit bland, and they were processed not minced. I was actually pleased when I had finished, because I was bored of eating them. I also noticed that the locals were getting their beer brought to them and we weren’t, bang went their tip! All-in-all though a decent experience and if I hadn’t ordered the burgers you’d probably be seeing a four star review.

A great family friendly pub with a good pub grub menu. Also dog friendly with dog access to the public bar and the beer garden. Very accessible from the village centre though parking very close by can be a pain. The establishment is wheel chair friendly although space in the public bar can be tight especially when busy as it often is. Staff are friendly and helpful and there is always a varied menu. Downside? If you are a real ale fan then(at least on my last visit) only bottled real ale rather than draft. Hence only four stars rather than five.
