The Raj is a small Indian restaurant found in Talbot Green. While it may be slightly cramped when busy and the space can be a bit of an added squeeze when attending in groups, the food at The Raj is often quite good; ‘good’ being the key word in the sentence. Although the meals on offer are nice, they are nothing special, with the menu largely consisting of uninspired predictabilities that are considerably lacking in wow-factor. Adding to the overall mediocrity, the interior looked a little grubby in places, which can be quite off-putting at times and takes away from the enjoyment of the meal and the experience as a whole. Also, the staff weren’t overly friendly and gave the distinct impression that the customers were putting them out by just being there. With so many other Indian restaurants in close proximity, you would think they would go the extra mile to gain a much needed, favourable first impression from their customers. All in all, The Raj is an okay Indian restaurant that serves decent, but not great, Indian food. Although, if you’re looking for the total package of great food and an authentic Indian experience, there are plenty of places nearby that trump The Raj any day of the week.
