The Longbow Beefeater

Located near the Royal Glamorgan hospital, The Longbow is a Beefeater restaurant specialising in food straight off the grill.
As a lover of steak, this restaurant ticks all the boxes, i.e. there is a massive selection of searing meat on the menu and the portions are as generous as a reformed Ebenezer Scrooge on Christmas morning.
From the 10oz rib eye to the maple glazed pork ribs, the menu will be literary torture to any vegetarian. For meat lovers on the other hand, that same menu is borderline soft-​core porn with dish after dish of tender, flavoursome temptation, urging you to devour their meaty goodness.
But the king of dirty pleasures on the menu has to be the mammoth 16oz steak platter; consisting of 4oz slices of rump, sirloin, fillet and rib eye, served with chips, spiral onion loaf, grilled tomato and a flat mushroom before being drowned in a peppercorn and brandy sauce. If this dish doesn’t kick-​start the meat sweats, nothing will.
A restaurant for an impassioned meat lover, but with just a handful of vegetarian dishes on the entire menu, probably not the best place to take a sympathetic animal-​loving friend.
