During one summer holidays year my brother and myself took part in a performing acting group such as Stagecoach, which was based in Saint David’s College. I had great fun doing the play called Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare. We had the play devised though, with the use of the West Side Story ending, we had only Romeo die out of him and Juliet at the end of the play. I was just an extra in it, but my brother got to play the part of Mercuito. It was great fun and a lot of hard work, but worthwhile for anyone desperate and destined to become an actor or actress. This group is placed within a few places around Cardiff and it is aged from four years old till sixteen year olds or until your eighteen years old, depending on which group you take part in. I was fifteen at the time I took part in it and my brother was two years younger than me. Every student gets to take part in the performances, doing all of Drama, Dance and Singing. Six to eighteen year olds will have one hour classes, once they have become apart different groups. The classes are roughly small sizes giving everyone a chance to work on areas in the acting world that they should so wish to. There are also four to six year old children who have shorter classes than an hour, which is ninety minutes long. The dance, drama and singing classes are all thirty minutes long. I recommend this to all local people who are interested in doing acting especially in the summer although they do, do classes all year round as well. I have put the address in Abergavenny because they use this as their main registered address, but the summer school classes I went to where held at Saint David’s Sixth Form College.
