Wright’s Bar

Formerly Aldo’s Place, this new Victoria Street bar (opened August 14^th) feels predictably temporary. There’s nothing tremendously terrible about it, but there’s nothing all that impressive about it either. The leather furnishings look trendy but only because they haven’t had a chance to be scuffed yet.
There’s also a square theme going on. It’s subtle at first but soon you notice everything, from the chairs to the sinks is cubed and oblongular (dibs on the word). The baffling crowning achievement is the men’s urinal, a huge metal wardrobe of an installation. Sorry ladies but you’ll just have to picture it in your mind’s eye.
