I managed to go inside the Travelled Clinic to go with a friend who needed an injection before travelling to Cambodia. It surprised me that this was where such a pre-holiday jab would take place as opposed to the hospital or a GP’s surgery but it made for an efficient method of effectively sub contracting out vaccines and creating a one stop shop for travel help. She described the experience as faultless and that waiting times for the appointment were fairly accurate. An easy place to head to before travelling abroad then!

If you’re planning an exotic holiday in some far off land, chances are you’ll need to visit this clinic. Here you can get professional advice on health and safety precautions when travelling abroad as well as any required vaccinations and tablets. There is a charge for a one off consultation with a medical professional which I think is around £6. This fee is deducted if you require vaccinations. Well Travelled runs a drop in service from 9 – 12 but get there early as it can get quite busy and you may not get seen. Alternatively, evening appointments are offered. Before you visit the clinic I recommend that you check the nathnac website:
for details of vaccinations you may need when visiting your chosen destination. Also, consult your doctor as you may already have some of the required vaccines and, if not, some can be provided for free on the NHS. I visited the clinic in late May in preparation for a trip to Kenya. The staff were very welcoming and the service cannot be faulted. The nurse administered Yellow Fever injections and provided a debrief of all the injections my travelling partner and I had had, she discussed potential risks in the area and the precautions that we could take to lessen these risks, printing off some relevant information for our interest. She was very knowledgeable and thorough. The injection cost around £50, which I thought was pricey, but I have since heard other registered Yellow Fever centres are more expensive. Besides, you can’t put a price on your health.
