Opened by former Mr Everyman Bistro himself, Paddy Byrne, The Pen Factory was opened to much anticipation and high expectations. Apparently there were a few wobbles early on with service and it’s taken a while to get the ladies toilets sorted but the belated visits I have made there recently have been a pleasure. The atmosphere is fantastic and somehow, despite this space being very different from the Bistro, captures the same vibe of the old place. The décor is cool, funky and relaxed and the lighting just right. The wine list is good and I was very impressed with the prices. I had a delicious white Rioja there the other night for only £3.70 for a 175ml glass. I haven’t sampled the food yet but am very much looking forward to my first meal at the Pen Factory… it always smells incredible in there when I visit!
