Hiltons. They spring up everywhere don’t they, like weeds. Not in a bad way. I quite like weeds! And Hiltons aren’t all that bad, a little overrated perhaps apart from the lovely budget version Hilton at Liverpool Airport. Aww, I love that hotel. Anyway if you can’t afford to sleep in a Hilton(so… many… jokes — so little time…) at least you can afford to lunch in one. Or dine. Whatever floats your raft. The restaurant is located in a hotel that’s become something of an iconic building in the newly renovated city centre. It’s a very modern restaurant, British in cuisine flavour, and the décor is very chic. It’s trendy and rich food that’s on offer, with the likes of locally sourced fish dishes and some Regency-esque classics like wood pigeon. Now why would you want to eat those birds that go ‘woo-hoo, woo’ all the time? Those were the sounds of my childhood! It’s all very refined and the elegance is almost tangible. The views of Chavasse Park really do top off the experience, it’s a stunning feature that makes the restaurant what it is. Fresh ingredients, excellent service and beautiful décor with staggering views makes for an all round super experience. And it’s absolutely central too, so if you’re bored of trawling round the usual restaurants, try something different and step into the Hilton.
