Yes, that was the first (edited) verse of Beyonce Knowles ‘If I were a boy’!
Shu Story sells every type of shoe a girl would dream of, at low prices but there is a catch in terms of quality. High heels are perhaps even more dodgy on a drunken night out after you’ve had 2+ months wear out of them!
If you want a pair of solid shoes that lasts for years, then my best advice is to avoid here, hence otherwise if you have different philosophies for buying footwear.

So I have a tendency to buy shoes that don’t fit, you know, you see a pair you love but they’re a teensy bit too big or small and you think, well I’m sure it will be fiiiine. Then you get home. And funnily enough your feet have not grown or shrunk that extra half an inch you were hoping for.
If you, like me have this problem, then Shu Story is a good bet. Mainly because, well it’s cheap. However, I wore the £25 lace-​up boots that everyone seems to have these days to death and after about a month there is basically no sole to them.
Hmm, come to think of it I also bought a pair of cowboy-​esque boots that I purchased in the £10 section which have now unsurprisingly started to come apart at the seams.
Maybe I should measure my feet, go elsewhere and actually get a high quality pair of shoes that will last more than a few weeks.
But if you’re planning on hitting the town and know full well that broken heels and scuffs are on the cards, then probably best to grab a pair from here.

Stories I like: Toy Story, Tokyo Story.
Stories I don’t link: the story where I get my hand trapped in a car door, Shu Story.
The shop sells a range of cheap shoes (not ‘shus’) — from pumps and sandals to fake Uggs (fuggs) and party heels, all of which look okay from a distance but most of which have a tendency to fall apart after a few wears. In addition they sell knock-​off versions of Paul’s Boutique bags which, in all fairness, look almost exactly the same as the real versions — whether this is a good or a bad thing is something I will leave to your own discretion.
The staff are pretty gruff and can be difficult if you’re returning defective items. The store seems to be almost always customerless. Don’t be fooled by the rainbow shopfront — this is certainly no pot ‘o’ gold. If you want reasonable priced fashion –copy shoes that will last I suggest Deichmann which is less than five minutes walk away.

The shop is set out very logically with the soon to be moved on, winter shoes, boots etc. Then there are the sparkly shoes, swade shoes, patent shoes, leather shoes, wedge shoes, low shoes, high shoes and being spring/​summer the wonderful sandels!
So much choice.
The music puts you in the dancing mood and so it’s just a decision of which pay of shoes to buy and for which occasion.
What did surprise me was to find school socks on sale…
Oh and I nearly forgot, they also sell bags.

Shu Story is one of those places where you can get cheap and often nasty shoes, bang on trend. Yes, they have a £5 and £10 section. They also have a full range of what I tend to call ‘stripper shoes’ — both the platform variety that seem to have come into fashion over winter, and actual stripper shoes and thigh-​high boots.
This is an ideal shop if you’ve found a gorgeous outfit but just can’t justify splashing out on matching shoes as well. My philosophy for high heels is this — most of the time I’m drunk when I’m wearing them, so I won’t notice if they hurt. And if they only last 2 months that’s ok, because they’ll either be out of fashion again or I’ll have ruined them beyond repair. Therefore spending £10-£20 on a pair is not a problem.
