The first time I encountered Molton Brown’s toiletries was when I was bought a gift set for Christmas. I could tell from the packaging alone that this was very high quality stuff and must have been expensive. On trying the shower gels in the set which I was given I found they smelt amazing and were very luxurious and high quality. I was devastated when the gift set ran out, and then a friend told me that there was a Molton Brown shop in Liverpool’s Met Quarter, so I went along. The store is very smart and modern. There is a mind boggling range of shower gels, bubble baths, soaps, scrubs, face washes, face masks, bath bombs, bath oil, shampoo, conditioner, hand wash, exfoliating bars, scented candles, moisturisers, cleansers and gift sets. Molton Brown’s products come in a range of sizes to suit all needs and budgets. Unfortunately I’m only able to afford the smaller sizes, but they still last for a long time. Yes, Molton Brown products are pretty expensive, but they are so luxurious and posh that they make a wonderful gift or an excellent occasional treat for yourself.

Ohh, Molton Brown, if only I could afford all your products. Until I become a famous columnist or media studies entrepreneur I’ll have to make do with hint dropping and a few paltry gift sets. Well, the gift sets aren’t that paltry at all, but if you happen to have a special lady in your life, or indeed metrosexual man, they’ll go down a storm. From precision grooming kits to candles, lotions and potions and incredibly rich and luxurious hair treatments, wandering in here is like being a child in a candy shop. If candies are moisturisers. As I’ve said of so many Met Quarter shops, the location is absolutely perfect considering the shopping centre is geared towards high end products, and you’re likely to spot the odd WAG or two in here. Price ranges can be pretty tough in Molton Brown. It’s not the place to come for a bargain, although they do occasionally have reductions and special offers — nope, this is a spot for a treat and a half. If you want to feel like a celebrity, smell like a star or be in for some good lovin’ from a significant other or extra brownie points from your friends, this is a good place to start. Plus the stuff is insanely high quality, thus you find yourself using less of it meaning it lasts longer. The staff are knowledgeable and very polite too.

Molton Brown has the best range of Mens facial and body products available. The main reason i think this is the case is that not only does Molton Brown have a massive range of male specific products, the quality of these products is amongst the very best. Although Molten Brown can be extremely expensive, it is a price worth paying for something that works so well. The Metquater branch is an oasis of tranquillity and the staff whilst helpful allow you to browse unhindered. Definitely the place to go to buy someone a gift, or simply just to treat yourself!

As property developers and estate agents are fond of telling us: Location is everything. If Molton Brown was in the Clayton Square or St. John’s shopping centres, it would seem hideously expensive and out of place. Surrounded by designer boutiques like Kurt Geiger, Flannels and Armani in the swanky Metquarter however, it seems reasonably priced. The shop is spacious and elegant, the stock is well displayed and the products look and smell divine. We’re talking beautiful body scrubs, bath salts, body lotions, hand creams, sugar polishes and gift sets. £49 for an Enliving Toko-Yuzu scented candle and £12.00 for a black pepper bodyscrub bar, you say? Why madam, I’ll take five of each.

I never knew about the wonder of Molton Brown products until someone got me some for a Christmas present. I used the tinted moisturiser(which seems to be discontinued and replaced with something equally yummy) every day and it was divine. I’m a bit of a makeup diva as it is, and didn’t like my attention being diverted from MAC, but they’ve got some really good products here. To make matters worse, the staff in this shop are really nice, not too overbearing or judgemental if you lack the knowledge about their products. Good job MAC and MB are opposite each other! The shampoos, creams and lotions are also really good — if struggling to find an adequate present for the woman who has everything, I strongly recommend the women’s traveller — 6 mini goodies for £39, which is probably what you’d pay if you put a similar package together in Boots. Everything you could need in one bag, and it all smells good enough to eat too!
