Middle Eastern Restaurant is an incredible find in the Liverpool area. I came with two local friends from Liverpool and they loved the food as well! The restaurant specializes in food from Yemen and the chef and owner, Ali, is Yemeni. We arrived around 7:30pm, just in time before they close at 8pm daily. Even though we were so close to closing time, they were still kind enough to seat us and let us order a feast. We started off with the maraq lamb broth soup and some salad. The soup was wonderful and full of flavor. For the main dishes, we had lamb mandi, chicken kebsa, and chicken ogda. All were amazing and delicious. In particular, the chicken ogda was perfectly flavored and served in the black pot so it stayed warm. So good! The bread was fresh and just made so it was perfect and delicious. The restaurant also offers fresh juice and we got lime mint juice. Wow it was soooo good. They have two types of sahawiq, one with cheese and one normal. It’s spicy sauce like salsa made fresh with tomatoes that can be added to the maraq soup or with anything. I like to put it everywhere! There is a lounge area downstairs where it’s possible to eat on the floor in the traditional way and there is a family section. Our meal totaled to 27 pounds for 3 people. We were all completely stuffed and even took away many leftovers. This restaurant is very affordable and has absolutely amazing food. We will be back!
