A compact, wooden booze hole, the Hare and Hounds, as you could probably tell from the name, is a traditional-style pub with a comfortable atmosphere and enough scruffiness to prevent the refurbished interior from seeming too clinically sterile. Directly across the road is the classless West Derby, which is good because that means everyone you don’t want to see will just pile over there, meaning customers who prefer quizzes to karaōke are left to sit in the best place I can remember named after a blood sport.

The Hare and Hounds is a delightful pub situated in the hub of West Derby. Famed for its quiz nights on a Wednesday it has a really friendly ambiance. The pub’s décor is fresh and modern and the seats are particularly comfy. Although this place is popular and it gets busy scarily quickly, there are always enough staff on duty providing efficient service so you never have to worry about a queue. The Hare and Hounds does all your typical pub food and offers a great array of beverages. A great local spot. I hope it continues to provide amusing Wednesday night entertainment!
