Grin

Grin is the biggest store in Grand Central and often people come into the building just to go to Grin. It is a large store selling a massive range of items for men and women. The sizes are more like junior sizes, so it might be more accurate to say for teenage girls and boys. They sell hoodies, t-​shirts, trousers, dresses, corsets, jackets, smart tops, scarves, gloves, belts, handbags, rucksacks, hair dyes (my favourite part of the shop), gifts and much more.
My favourite feature is the hair dyes. They sell the full range of Directions La Riche hair dyes. These are semi permanent hair dyes which come in every colour you can think of. They always have plenty of stock of every colour, and they charge a very cheap £3.50 per pot. I always go here when I need to top up my flamingo pink hair. (yes my hair is currently black, but not for long).
The staff are very friendly and helpful. They are happy to give advice and definitely give service with a smile.

The different genres of goth music might have become more elaborate over the years. Unfortunately, one look around Grin establishes that the fashion hasn’t. We’re talking truly dull and unimaginative band tees, slogan tees, shirts, jeans, pants and accessories. The one saving grace is the colourful nail polish, hair dye and make-​up by the counter!

Grin is the name of the shop that faces you are you enter the building but there are numerous other vintage clothes shops on the first and basement levels. This place is weird and weirdly popular for the alternative scene. It used to be called Quiggins but changed several years ago and about a year ago got even bigger but if you want to see it you had better be quick as rumour has it that the building is going to be put to an alternative use. Its quite a large shop selling more than just mens and womens clothing. Lots of striped clothing, t-​shirts and stickers with slogans such as «never underestimate the power of a sick mind».
