Ah, The Crosby. I think every good town or village should have a pub named after the place it is in. One of my few gripes about Formby is that there is no pub called The Formby(or at least if there is, I haven’t found it yet). This pub, situated on the main road, has a lovely traditional design both on the outside and inside which is complimented well by a variety of indoor and outdoor seating. Indeed, the area at the front of the pub is a lovely place to sit in during our British summers, on one of those days when the sun comes out(the bit just before everyone complains about it being too hot because they’ve got burnt). The prices in there are pretty reasonable and the atmosphere is always friendly and quite lively. The weekly quiz night is a popular one for my friends and I to venture to midweek(maybe something to do with the free butties halfway through) and although I’m not a regular on the Crosby village scene, for me The Crosby is one of the better places to go for a pint when I’m there, especially in summer.

The Crosby quite a nice pub really. Externally the pub is attractive, it looks like an authentic old country pub, minus the main road running alongside, and inside the pub retains quite a traditional feel. There’s lots of wood and soft seat benches and of course, a huge bar. The Crosby tends to attract a really friendly sociable clientele and I used to enjoy a few drinks in here. I have not visited since the renovation following the fire, and should go back again!
