Here is somewhat of a rarity in my experience — a Chinese restaurant. That’s without ‘all-​you-​can-​eat’ plonked in front of it. And it’s not a takeaway, either.
As its status solely as a traditional restaurant suggests, Chinese Delight offers Asian cuisine that is a bit more extensive than your usual Chinese takeaways and all-​you-​can-​eat restaurants can offer. Their menu offers a wide selection of dishes, including oysters, as well as a range of chicken, duck and beef dishes. Sure, having these meats on their menu isn’t particularly impressive, but the sheer number of dishes including each of them is.
Unfortunately, the food doesn’t quite live up to the expectation set by the quality of the menu, but that’s not to say it’s horrible. It’s all pretty edible and quite tasty, but that’s about it. The quality of the dishes sets it apart from the usual Chinese places but, to be honest, when it comes to getting Chinese food I think I prefer the downmarket all-​you-​can-​eat places or just getting a takeaway and eating it whilst watching TV.
Still, if you’re in the area and fancy something a bit different then Chinese Delight might be worth a try.

I’m not the biggest fan of Chinese cuisine, but my friend convinced me that Chinese Delight was worth a visit. So hesitantly, I gave in.
The restaurant offers a varied menu with all the classics on, from chicken and sweetcorn soup to peking duck pancakes. We shared a banquet and were pleased with the service, the staff were very efficient and friendly.
Just as with the New Peking Duck (on Smithdown Rd) I couldn’t help but feel that I’d enjoy my meal more at home, and luckily, Chinese Delight also do a takeaway service.

Have not been here for about 2 years but prior to that we used to get take outs from there often.
Probably one of the nicest chinese takeaways I have tasted. Me and my boyfriend both enjoy the food from here. Nice choice of food and friendly staff.
