I have always loved Café Rouge eaten there lots of times with no complaints. So as we were in Liverpool for the day and spotted a Café Rouge I was pleasantly surprised & it was my sons choice to also eat there. It was valentines weekend so expected to wait a while for a table, but only waited ten minutes. . We were seated at the coldest table ever I was shivering from the draft, but ignored it and we ordered. . Starter’s arrived and were very tasty, I had Pâté with chutney and Rye bread very nice, for my Main because I love goats cheese & also beetroot I ordered the tart but it was awful very sloppy and after a couple of mouth fulls could not finish it and that’s not like me, it was if the pastry wasn’t baked enough. .told the waitress and they removed it from my bill which I thought was very good of them. All in all it was ok would return but I will be having something else of the menu.

I’m really, really not a huge fan of this place. Sure, the interior is really cute and ‘French-y,’ but the service is appalling and the food, well, I could do better myself and that’s saying something! I popped in here at lunch-time and found my mouth watering at the sound of a chicken baguette, which was very elaborately described on the menu. What appeared was most certainly not what I envisaged! A teeny baguette, un-buttered, with the smallest amount of chicken inside, with an accompaniment of a wilting lettuce leaf. For £9.00 it was extortionate! My face dropped with disappointment. I definitely won’t be heading here again, because the competition is tough for restaurants in Liverpool ONE, and this place simply does not cut the moutarde!

Conjuring up the image of an authetic Parisian style restaurant doesn’t really result in the 115+ chain of Café Rouge and unfortunetly, as nice and as appealing as the food, service and atmosphere may be, Café Rouge can’t fulfil the image. Despite the 3 course(and limited) fixed price menu, Café Rouge is never a first on my choise on destinations in the quest for a meal out. Its atmosphere, although some may consider authetic feels undeniably false, or should that be faux… its generally overpriced menu and perceived ponce didn’t meet anywhere near the standards of food I’ve experienced in small restaurants in France, small franch restaurants seem to be hard to find these days…

Café Rouge is a huge chain with around a hundred branches across the UK. In light of this I would not expect to receive authentic and genuine French food, but maybe I’m just cynical. On this occasion, I turned out to be right! Don’t get me wrong, the food is pretty and good, and is definitely edible — it’s just not what you would get in France. The atmosphere is ok but the tables are very close together so it’s not ideal if you wanted to talk about something private, or just enjoy someone’s company as the people next to you are almost sat on your knee. My favourite dishes are the French onion soup, penne au pesto and the steaks. Overall, it’s not a bad place to go and eat, and it’s pretty reasonable pricewise — around £25 per person for dinner. Just don’t expect France on a plate, as you’re more likely to find a bloke riding a bicycle with garlic or onions wrapped around his neck.

The atmosphere and ambiance is very cute and matches its French name. The menu selection had a good variety and the wait service was timely. We received our food in a reasonable and our waiter was pleasant, even though we were in the middle of the lunch crowd. The food itself came out hot and tasty! I had a croque monsieur which was exactly what I had expected and my friend had the grilled chicken which she enjoyed. We were also travelling with an infant in which they had a great bathroom with a change table. Overall great lunch with experienced wait staff and good food. Would definitely go there again!

Had an absolute fantastic meal here. Had a voucher off their website for 2 for 1 and it was excellent value for money. We had a steak baguette and a salmon and cheese croquette which was to die for really nice. The atmosphere in the Café was lovely very holiday like. The staff were friendly and helpful — them explained the menu and what various items were if you were unsure. They were not too pushy just enough. Definitely be visitn again.

A lovely traditional French restaurant. I ate here for the first time on Valentine’s Day(previously been to Café Rouge in Plymouth). The prices are fair, especially for the quality of food received. The food is absolutely delicious and the staff are friendly and helpful. Even though I attended the restaurant on a very popular and busy day, I was not kept waiting for the food and it always arrived freshly made and well presented. I highly recommend this place for anyone wanting a great meal out or to treat a loved one.

When we visited it had only just opened a week before, very busy, had to wait for a table but were offered a seat at the bar and a drink. Service was a little slow but I think staff were still settling in. Main courses lovely, but two puddings(crepes) a little cold.
