Amalia Italian Restaurant

Really really good Italian food, nice staff, and nice and quiet. Reasonable prices too, cheaper than a lot of poor pizza places.

Came here with my boyfriend having no reservation on an already busy Friday night, wanting to use our tastecard. We were greeted with a welcoming smile as our waiter, who accepted our tastecard with no fuss, shown us to a table almost instantly.
Out starters came after a short wait, coming to the table fresh, hot, well portioned and extremely well presented given the short time frame. My boyfriends fungi bruchetta looked fit for the gods, and was seasoned to perfection.
Within ten minutes of our starters being taken away our mains were on the table, with me being taken aback by the size of my calzone. Quantity did not compromise quality though, being filled with succulent chicken, fresh vegetables, multiple cheeses and what may the best pizza sauce I have ever had the pleasure of trying.
However tempted we were for dessert, the gigantic portions left us full enough and we asked for the bill. When it arrived, it had came to under £25, for two starters, mains, and drinks. Incredible food. Huge portions. Friendly staff. Great atmosphere.

Lovely restaurant a stones throw from Liverpool !, the Echo Arena and Albert Dock .
We stsartedv with a couple of breads to start — used the pizza base dough like most places but they were huge, one between three was plenty. I had Ganochetti and lamb pasta (pasta with a succulent lamb stew dish, it was tasty and filling.
Four adults, two bread starters, four main courses, three suites, couple of drinks and a coffee — bill came to £89.00.
Its ideal for a meal after work, lots of good pubs round and about.
Service was a bit slow, but the food was excellent and plentiful.
