Lifestyles Alsop is the newest leisure facility in the city which opened in 2007. It replaced the demolished site of the old Queens Drive pool and it is now shared by Alsop High School and the wider community. The facility boasts a state-of-the-art fitness suite offering more to its members and the local community, 25 metre swimming pool, cricket nets and a large sports hall catering for many sporting activities. The centre also offers free access to all Liverpool students up to the age of 17 under the ‘Futures’ scheme playing a vital role in the community, bring local people together, and improving health and fitness to all ages. Although it is a compact place, I would definitely recommend a swim here, especially if you’ve got kids as they will love a splash. The centre has a welcoming feel to it and is a breath of fresh air compared to some of the more dated leisure centres within Merseyside.
