A great place to ride, whatever your standard. There’s a wide choice of ponies and horses, several outdoor schools and one very large indoor school, with hacking out available for the brave. However, what really sets this place apart is how friendly the staff and helpers are. Newcomers are made to feel as welcome as regulars. The choice of lesson type, day and duration is also flexible, which again, is a definite plus point. Children as young as 4 can join the Tots Trots weekend lessons, which gently introduces them to riding, while being more fun and less formal than regular instruction. Once you’ve found your feet, there are regular competitions and show days to take part in, with classes for all levels. They’re reasonably informal too, which is encouraging for those who might not have competed before. Well worth a visit.
