The exterior and interior of this pub is very pleasant but that’s about the only positive thing I can say about it which is a shame. The food, although they do make the soup themselves, appears to all be microwaved or very low quality. I suppose for the price it is OK but I would much rather spend an extra few quid and go somewhere with better food. Shame as it has so much potential!

We have just moved to the area and tried this place last weekend — we called for a quick pint and the smell and look of the food being served enticed us for a quick lunch too ! We both had the hot beef sarnie with homemade chips and the side — both served with an extra jug of gravy for chip dipping ! The lunch was very good and great value at about a tenner, beer choice was fine with a couple of real ales and the usual lager suspects. It a typical family run style of pub — Dad and daughter were behind the bar the day we visited, both very nice and happy to advise on the local area. Car parking is close but is over the road from the pub. I liked it and will be going back soon.

This is like stepping back into pubs when I was younger. Real beer, low beams, real fires and friendly people. Everything good but prices too high.

Excellent draft beer and a friendly atmosphere with coal fires in the winter. Food is good, tasty and well priced.

In my opinion this is the nicest pub in Leyland. It has a very relaxed atmosphere and a lovely roaring fire — perfect on a cold winter evening. There’s also a good sheltered area for smokers with patio heaters to keep everyone warm outside. It can get very busy at weekends so prepare to stand all night. I believe they have recently started serving food and hope that this works out for them.
