Not to expensive for a family day out but if you plan to visit more than 3 – 4 times in a year, the family season ticket is the most economical way. 3+ year olds will get the most out of it, some good demonstrations going on at certain times of the day. Remember to take a pocket full of 20p pieces, as the model railway is a big draw. Nice café with a conservatory but limited food, ok for ice creams/coffee/cold drinks but if you are planning to eat there, bring a picnic. If its wet, take wellingtons as on certain parts of the farm there are no defined pathways and it can get muddy. All in all a good day out.

I used to take my kids here regularly, though they are a bit old for it now. I would say it is suitable for about 4 – 8 year olds and around 3 hours is probably about the right time for a visit. It is quite a reasonable price to get in and you can take your own food for a picnic which cuts the cost down.

We come here roughly once a year, usually with a bunch of friends. Our daughter has also been here with her school. It’s a pleasant visit but not enough for a whole day out, and do bring a picnic as the café only serves very light refreshments. The miniature railway is enchanting and there is a nice play area for all ages. At set times of the day there ae various demonstrations i.e. milking.

Standalone Farm is a lovely place to take young children. They can feed the animals, play on toy tractors, play in the playground and run around to burn off some energy. There is a picnic area and an indoor café. The café doesn’t sell the widest range of food, but its better than nothing. Worth a visit if you have young kids
