kids loved it. tractor ride, feeding the lambs and goats well worth taking kids 2 if u want a day of piece and quiet indoor play area could keep them entertained all day.

A fun place for families all around. Good indoor playground and lots of animals and activities out doors also. Prices for entry and food are way too high however and a small container of chips (french fries) should not cost £2! Worth seeing, but too expensive to make a regular stop.

Always took my children there when thery were small, even before the haybarn and playbarn were open! They loved the cuddlies with the bunnies, althought 2 tried to mate on my 4 year olds lap. Thankfully, he thought they were playfighting! Took my 84 yr old friend from London for a picnic last May He learned to speak fluent sheep and we took lots of photos. They only offered a 50p discount from the adult price, — he was looking forward to the dropslide, but u know what hips can be like when of an certain age. Nevertheless gorgeous day out, if a little windy, and we had a tractor ride, an ice cream and three enjoyable hours. x Thanx Mead Open Farm

A friendly open farm with a hugely popular indoor play area where you can buy lunch and watch your kids tire themselves out on slides. Net climbing and ball areas. The play area appears rough and tumble at first sight but the kids love it and there are loads of friendly staff on hand with radios keeping an eye on the kids. Outside there are tractor rides, animal feeding and educational displays. They cater for Birthday parties and it really is a boon for parents struggling to fill the school holidays.

Mead open farm is a lovely day out for families. There is so much to do, that the entrance fee doesn’t seem so much once you’re in there. They have activities every couple of hours throughout the day, such as the bunny hop, feeding lambs, milking cows and allsorts. They have a good range of animals which the children can feed with food bought from the till on the way in. There are lots of outdoor play facilities and free minigolf and pedal karting for slightly older kids. There is also Shaggy’s indoor play barn which has slides, climbing, ball pits and a café for the grown ups! It’s well worth taking a picnic with you as the food sold there is pretty expensive and quite poor. You do have to go through the gift shop on the way out which is annoying, but they usually have a table full of things that are £1 or £2 so you can get out without spending a fortune if you’re on the ball about it. Overall, it’s a good fun day out with activities to suit everyone.

A nice sized farm. Lot’s of animals including sheeps, goats, pigs, etc. There is a big play area, activity area and a play barn. There are toilets and there is a café with a large selection of food and drink. There are many picnic benches around the farm. You can also buy food to feed the animals. Nice day out for all!

I recently visited Mead Open Farm with my two pre-​school kids for one of their friends’ parties and despite being a wet day, we all thought it was really good.
Obviously given the weather we didn’t spend much time outdoors, but I was impressed with the size and quality of the wooden outdoor play area, and the Little Tikes outdoor activity area for younger kids looked really good, as did the ride on tractors and trailers.
Shaggy’s play barn is absolutely fabulous — the slides kept me and the kids entertained for hours — we only stopped sliding briefly for lunch!
The kids also really enjoyed feeding the sheep and goats, although being at the age where they still put their fingers in their mouths quite a lot worried me a bit, even though I helped them wash their hands thoroughly — probably just me being paranoid!
